WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean on Wednesday called Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki an "anti-Semite" for failing to denounce Hezbollah for its attacks against Israel.
Al-Maliki has condemned Israel's offensive, prompting several Democrats to boycott his address to a joint meeting of Congress and others to criticize him. Dean's comments were the strongest to date.
"The Iraqi prime minister is an anti-Semite," the Democratic leader told a gathering of business leaders in Florida. "We don't need to spend $200 and $300 and $500 billion dollars bringing democracy to Iraq to turn it over to people who believe that Israel doesn't have a right to defend itself and who refuse to condemn Hezbollah."

I thought the Dems had accused the Bush Administration of installing a puppet government in Iraq. Now, when the Iraqi PM doesn't agree with us, they criticize Bush for not installing a puppet. I'm so confused...
They have self-destructive tendencies and secretly want the GOP to win.
It was a Karl Rove intrigue. Had to be.
I heard that this morning Prime Minister al-Maliki met personally with many Democrat members of Congress and explained to them that if he made sweeping public statements condemning Hezbollah, it would be committing the equivalent of political suicide in Iraq.
Of course, that is exactly what the Dems would enjoy. If al-Maliki were unable to hold his government together, the Dems could use it against the Bush administration and any other politician that supports U.S. efforts in Iraq.
Just my take on Dean's comments.
Translation: We miss good old Saddam Husein, a genuine humanitarian.
Dean and anyone who follows him scares the berjebbers out of me.
The term "antisemitism" has a specific meaning. It always refers to "hatred of Jews". In contrast there has been no large, transnational movement dedicated to the hatred of Caananites, Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Lebanese, etc.

Dean's an ass but he's right. Dude is an antisemite and Bush doesn't get it. The Democrats of course blow on National security but he's right here.

BTW I heard Michael Savage going on pathetically about what a mistake it was for Israel to mess up Lebanon like this (I don't agree with Savage on that). Any chance in hell that Michael Savage is an anti semite?
Dean's remarks were totally shameless.
If Dean wants to see Anti Semitism in action- he should look no further than the Democrat Party.

Howard Dean's family belonged to the Maidstone Club - when it was closed to Jews.
But Howeird Dean is still a fool, right?
Can there be any doubt that Dean is a boor, a cad, a self-absorbed narcissist, and certifiably mentally ill? Even if he's right about Maliki, this isn't the kind of remark a responsible individual makes. He's an ass of the first order. He's breeding some seriously bad karma....I wonder how it will manifest itself.
I think this is all an effort to try to deligitmize the democratically elected and sovereign government of Iraq, as they would much rather follow the Vietnam template and falsely claim that the gov't is a "puppet". This is why I think it is shameful what the Dems are doing. It is not for the good of this country or the effort in Iraq to be undermining the Iraqi gov't. What they think about Hizbollah is not what is most important in Iraq at this very moment.

Because it gives Hillary a chance at earning big dollars outside the realm of the DNC.
It is sickening to see how many politicians these days are willing to play politics with matters of national security.
