Conservative national security allies of President Bush are in revolt against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that she is incompetent and has reversed the administrations national security and foreign policy agenda.
The conservatives, who include Newt Gingrich, Richard Perle and leading current and former members of the Pentagon and National Security Council, have urged the president to transfer Miss Rice out of the State Department and to an advisory role. They said Miss Rice, stemming from her lack of understanding of the Middle East, has misled the president on Iran and the Arab-Israeli conflict.
"The president has yet to understand that people make policy and not the other way around," a senior national security policy analyst said. "Unlike [former Secretary of State Colin] Powell, Condi is loyal to the president. She is just incompetent on most foreign policy issues."

You've really got to be a fool if you think Condi Rice isn't reflecting EXACTLY what the President wants!
See number 4.
Hush now, or you are going to mess up the toe suckers dream match
Condi/Hillary
Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think so highly of somebody who is radicaly open borders, pro abortion, pro gay marriage, pro affirmative action, and pro Palestinian state
I may be wrong...but I seem to remember that the 2 state solution in Israel came long before Condi became Sec. of State..so how can you blame her??
You try to sound like a conservative but the ego and self-promotion tendency that's key to liberalism still shows through.
Perhaps you just converted....in the past 20 days... and have come here to enlighten us goobers with you attempts at "word-herding".
Correct, that is a holdover of the Clinton/Albright crap. However, in light of everything negative that has resulted from these concessions will she ever change that course of direction? Is this what we need to be conveying to the Palis in the midst of their war on Israel? Or do we need to be saying no Territory for terrorists!
Some people learn slower than others, keep watching and you will catch on, unless of course facts mean nothing to you.
I don't like this forum being used for self-promotion. The rest is arguable.
She sure came out of that room of piranhas in Rome and kept her foot down.
You know...there is a certain thing called timing. Three months ago this wouldn't have hurt them, but they choose to do this now?
Condi Rice is not John Bolton by nature.
Granted.
But, have any of these people noticed how she's been handling the Israeli/Hezbollah war lately? Pretty effective. Of course her first instinct was to rein them in, it took a directive from Bush to allow the Israeli's to move forward. But can it be denied she's being pretty damn effective since being given the order not to accept a ceasefire that's not a ceasefire?
Condi's clearly qualified to do the job. She's proving it daily. Their main complaint is that her natural inclination wasn't to do as she is doing now. Well, fine, I accept that and it's one reason I wouldn't rank her high as an '08 prospect. But G.W.B. is not going to remove a close friend that's competent in what she does.
They should instead being laying groundwork to make the current rhetoric and action be default policy, rather then status quo. And that is easily accomplished by convincing G.W.B. to detail that change to her. She isn't going to undermine him. Under directive she'd respond daily the next two and a half years as she is doing right now.
Really bad timing on their part, and really bad solution to the problem.
I will take your advice even if it means picking up another roll of Rynolds Aluminum Foil at the store.
Will it require heavy duty or can I get by with regular?
IOW: 'No one diplomatic to lead our diplomatic corps!!!!' LOL!
Here's an old American diplomat you would approve of though:
"WILLIAM EATON...
was appointed, in 1797, consul to Tunis. Besides attending to the ordinary
duties of consul, he was authorized, in connection with the consuls of Algiers and Tripoli, to alter a treaty which a Frenchman by the name of Famin- acting as United States agent- had made with the Bey of Tunis.
...he horsewhipped Famin in the public streets"

Nope, you just misunderstood my sarcasm. I am in agreement with you on Condi, but I knew the Bush Botts would be along to scorch the earth.
Some on this forum think they elected a Savior.
THIS IS A DRIVE-BY THREAD!
I tend to ignore people who constantly link to their own site.
I think that Condi's stubbornness about any kind of cease fire without a "change" is indicative of the NEW way of dealing with this..
And, let's not forget the Palestinian's proclivity for shooting themselves in the foot.
Depends on whether or not you want to see I guess.
My guess is that you don't, but time will tell.
How is the no nuke negotiation going with Iran? Norh Korea?
