Conservative national security allies of President Bush are in revolt against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that she is incompetent and has reversed the administrations national security and foreign policy agenda.
The conservatives, who include Newt Gingrich, Richard Perle and leading current and former members of the Pentagon and National Security Council, have urged the president to transfer Miss Rice out of the State Department and to an advisory role. They said Miss Rice, stemming from her lack of understanding of the Middle East, has misled the president on Iran and the Arab-Israeli conflict.
"The president has yet to understand that people make policy and not the other way around," a senior national security policy analyst said. "Unlike [former Secretary of State Colin] Powell, Condi is loyal to the president. She is just incompetent on most foreign policy issues."

Sounds good but the Clinton appointees were turned into Civil Servants before Clinton left office, and you can't ask for resignations of Civil Servants. It was a shrewd move by the Clintons. I believe they did this in the State Dept, the Justice Dept and anywhere else where they could. There should be a Federal Law against doing this but apparently there isn't and Hillary made some shrewd moves. She did this to undermine the next Republican president. Only thing that can be done is to demote the Civil Servants for incompetence, perhaps.
I think that most of us are skeptical enough and just having fun. Most people on this thread haven't fallen for a thing. And most of us aren't even arguing, cause we KNOW who did it.
Mr. Gingrich agrees and said Miss Rice's inexperience and lack of resolve were demonstrated in the aftermath of the North Korean launch of seven short-, medium-, and intermediate-range missiles in July. He suggested that Miss Rice was a key factor in the lack of a firm U.S. response.
"North Korea firing missiles," Mr. Gingrich said. "You say there will be consequences. There are none. We are in the early stages of World War III. Our bureaucracies are not responding fast enough. We don't have the right attitude."
You're so easy. LOL.
LOL.
Heck, he should give Oscar the grouch my regards while he's at it.
Great thought. You and several others have had Condi 2008 President on their home pages or mentioned it. Have you been to www.3condi.com
We can get you a bumper sticker if you wish.
What does Newit think our response should have been??
The opposite of whatever Bush does.
That's what makes you so entertaining.
Have a good one.
Power mad; need that fund raising money; need that camera face time; need the security of "being somebody."
What does that tell you about his character to begin with?
Scary as hell, IMO.
So he thinks we should just start World War III and get over with, huh??
Oh great plan there Newit
Goss? Where is he?
Notice that the trolls have slithered back into the woodwork to get more seminar training from their fellow cockroaches.
You know, I really appreciate what Newt did when he did it. Machiavelli couldn't have done better.
But then I saw what lack of character can do. In the long run, it's a loser. I've changed the way I look at candidates since then. Character does matter.
President Reagan knew that, and so does President Bush. I may not always agree with this President, by I rest assured that what he does, he does for the right reasons.
You are completely correcthis hubris is scary as hell.
What is it about boomers that doesn't allow them to go out with the grace and humility of most of their predecessors? Even Tom Foley had enough sense to do that for crying out loud.
What the heck are you talking about? You make it sound like Newt retired and is ancient. He's not. He's still a reasonably young man, politics-wise. You want him in a monastery. His brain didn't stop working when he left Congress. If anything, Newt's brain works non-stop and overtime. The idea he would go out to pasture at his age is ludicrous.
Who in the world would care what Newt Gingrich has to say? He's a loser in every sense of the word. Whatever Newt says, just do the opposite and you'll probably be ok, lol.
