Democrat Billionaires Trying to Fund Liberal Takeover
https://www.gopsenators.com/ ^

Posted on 07/26/2006 1:42:35 PM PDT by truthfinder9

Last week, the front page of the Washington Post exposed the details of the shadowy group of Democrat billionaires who are trying to fund the liberal take-over of Congress.

This dangerous group called the "Democracy Alliance" has become "a large source of undisclosed and unaccountable political influence."

In the last nine months alone, the Washington Post reports the so-called "Democracy Alliance" has funneled over $50 million to liberal groups bent on defeating conservatives.

Will you let a club for billionaires buy the Senate?

The Washington Post reported earlier last week that a shadowy club for billionaires called the "Democracy Alliance" is providing millions of dollars behind the scenes to help liberals.

The NRSC is counting on grassroots Americans, and particularly our netroots supporters, to help level the playing field.

Led by billionaires like George Soros and Tim Gill, this shadowy group is made up exclusively of millionaires and billionaires who agree to spend hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars each, with one goal in mind: building a "political infrastructure" to defeat conservatives.

We've got to fight back against these billionaires who want to buy control of Congress!

Our effort to retain control of the U.S. Senate this November is going to determine whether America continues on the path to a stronger, safer, more prosperous future...

...OR whether Harry Reid and his liberal allies in the "Democracy Alliance" capture the Senate this November. If the liberals succeed and we fail, you can bet that they will move swiftly to:

Roll back the pro-growth Bush tax cuts that have revitalized our economy and fight to uphold the "Death Tax" - one of the most un-fair and un-American taxes of all! \ Cut and run from Iraq and undermine our efforts to win the War on Terror.

Give amnesty to illegal immigrants and open our borders to an uncontrolled flood.

Reject fair-minded, qualified judges in favor of liberal activist judges.

Replace core Republican values with laws that encourage partial birth abortion and re-define the definition of traditional marriage between a man and a woman.

**

You have already helped make a tremendous impact on our Nation's future - and you truly have my sincerest, most heartfelt thanks for that.

But remember, our Republican Senate candidates are gearing up to battle a liberal Democrat campaign machine that is more negative and more desperate than ever before.

Can I count on you to help them fight back?

Remember, these liberal Democrats have virtually unlimited amounts of money from their allies like the shadowy and unaccountable "Democracy Alliance" who will spend whatever it takes to humiliate President Bush and turn back the clock.

That is why the NRSC simply cannot afford to let up in our efforts to stop the liberal Democrats from gaining control of the Senate this fall! Not for a day ... not even for an hour!

Together, I believe we can save our crucial Republican Senate Majority and keep America moving forward under our vision of common-sense and conservative principles.

But you must act now.

Thank you for your dedication to your Party and your much-needed support for the NRSC today.

The WaPo actually published a front-page story accusing Democrat billionaires and millionares of trying to buy congress? I'd have thought they'd want to keep such a group under wraps.

Maybe I'm just provincial, but it seems to me that more than a few Pubbie Sinators have joined Harry Reid and his liberal allies in the "Democracy Alliance" in thwarting the President's efforts.

Despite their millions, they still only have one vote. (Is Soros allowed to vote?)

Let them spend it all trying to convince others, and fail in their efforts.

But, but, but, I thought only Republicans were rich fat-cats and that Republicans answered to big-business.

They did that in 2002 too, and 2004.
Result was the same in both cases: RATS got clobbered.
Hey, Soros, keep pumping money into the Bush economy, and keep losing.
We are quite happy for you to keep wasting your money.

The only surprising thing here is that liberals could assemble the skills to become billionaires. Of course, they may have accumulated the wealth through various very efficient means while being ruthlessly apolitical, then only later, looking back in remorse, chose to don the sack cloth and ashes, calling for all the new restrictions on others, so none may follow in their footsteps.

For the most part, few of them chose to become altruistic philanthropists, preferring to trade their position of wealth for a position of power.

And guess who could have vetoed it

But we assured by many posters here that it was a brilliant political move not using the veto

IIRC, there are laws prohibiting illegal immigration also.

Guess that means there's no illegal aliens in the US.

What's actually so disgusting to me is that basically all political positions are bought these days. One mighty and free Republic with magnificently designed Constitution...going...going...SOLD to the highest bidder!

If a pauper with principles decided to give it a go, that person would have to be a superhuman to battle not only the opposing party but the media and other assorted powerful moguls.
