Why isn't there the option of: "Guilty by reason of insanity."?

That's a good one! I think that should be an option, where once she is "treated" then she begins to serve her sentence, thus hopefully never, ever being free again.

Yep. "Guilty but Insane" should be the verdict. Send her to a pshchiatric hospital and try and get her well. Then when she is well, lock he murdering ass in jail for the rest of her life. Either that of kill her. She should never, ever see the outside world again.

There is a school of thought that says all humans are good. Evil must occur in a state of insanity. I think the replies on this thread speaks volumes.

If it were up to me she'd be relieved of life. I understands the technique cures mental illness as the process runs its course.

There is no such concept in Texas law. This is why it was not an option for the jury.

So far, efforts to get the Texas legislature to add this kind of verdict have failed.
