Six months. Their attorney said he should be out before Christmas, but the mom says she no longer believes anything anyone connected to the judicial system says. I believe that six months puts him out just in time to begin his semester of his sophomore year in college. Plus they are hoping that he will be allowed to tutor fellow inmates for their GED. My concern is that that could set him up as a target because of his intelligence and "advantages."

twigs.... I know you are thinking of this man as a kid, but he is 19 years old, we have young men in Iraq who are put in harms way, for the security of this country. There are young American men who died in World War 2, who were 19.

Remember this Young 19 year old Solider?

I am sure that this young man whose 6 months in jail will be a luxury stay , compared to Jessica's tour of duty.

Six months is nothing. He can do that standing on his head.

The real punishment comes when he is released and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Every employer these days does a background check. So do most landlords and many universities. Short of getting pardoned by the Governor, this is going to stay with him forever.
