Six months is nothing. He can do that standing on his head.
The real punishment comes when he is released and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Every employer these days does a background check. So do most landlords and many universities. Short of getting pardoned by the Governor, this is going to stay with him forever.
Six months is not nothing. But I agree. He will have a problem. I'm not sure whether he was charged as a sex offender or not. I do know that he was charged with a federal communications charge. Fortunately, he had a job with people who knew about the charges and worked on up until he went to jail. So he will have good references. But he will certainly face challenges.
