For some reason I thought I heard years ago that he was a Republican. But I guess not. Well... I don't know what he's going to be good for. If the war in Iraq and illegal immigration don't matter, I can't imagine what does.

He was a republican. I even remember when he out debated Michael Savage on either FOX or CNN.

He was. He said way back in the early 90's he wanted to run for governor of Alabama some day as a Republican. One of his best quotes was when he told his grandmother about it and she said, "Oh, you don't want to be a Republican, they're for the rich!" Barkley replied, "Grandma, I am the rich."

Guess all the anti-Bush propaganda finally drove him away, but I expect he would be a conservative Democrat and not a moonbat.

I remember it that way too. Some years ago he made a comment that he told his mother that he was a Republican, and she said: "but son, Republicans are for the rich", to which he replied: "Mom, I am rich!"
