The NCAA is a private organization. I can't blame them. Such a divisive symbol as the reb flag has its place only on private property. It has a similar effect to one large group of citizens as a statue of General Sherman holding a torch located on state grounds would have to another large group of SC citizens.

Keith said. “Is it completely eradicated or something we can say it’s done? No. The issue is still there.”

Remember this is about BASKETBALL. Or is it? Looks more like organized pimps every day. Have your play offs in Indonesia. If the world is a lucky a tsunami will put you out of your misery, and ours.

Since the crazy neo-confederates continuing hounding about their banner of the lost cause, maybe it would not be a bad idea to position rather large statues of General Sherman in all areas where the reb flag is still flying on public property :)

The people of South Carolina removed the flag from their dome, which was a compromise agreed to by all. The only flag is at a Confederate Soldiers Memorial, which is appropriate. The NAACP is trying to change the rules, regardless of the feelings of the electorate in that state.
The NAACP does not deserve or merit such power.

I can put up with sherman if they can put up with the flag. A statue is only a piece of stone, and a place for the pigeons to s(%t.

Political correctness run amok in the NCAA. Consider who their CEO is - former Indiana University President Myles Brand. He was well known for firing the legendary Basketball Coach Bobby Knight.

The NCAA is going after Indian mascot names such as the Fighting Illini and then going after the Stars & Bars. What a waste of time and resources. The NCAA should not be in the business of social engineering but in the business of promoting collegiate sports.

"...South Carolina has lost out on several NCAA-sanctioned events."

Blessings still occur.

Male Bovine Fecal Effluvia. The Stars and Bars is a symbol of honor and valor.

It's the PC brigades such as the NAASomeCP that have bastardized it and tried to change the meaning.

Its political correctness. If they don't like the South, no one is forcing the NCAA to hold its games there. The Confederate flag is now simply code for the failure of the South to adopt Yankee liberal culture. The enemy will not be satisfied until Dixie surrenders again and I do not mean relegating a Civil War Era flag to a museum. That's not why liberals keeping making an issue over something almost no one cares about.

I am a pure Yankee, New England born, New England bred, and i'll probably end up New England dead, but I fully support flying the confederate flag. It is NOT a racist symbol.

Now the rainbow flag the faggots hijacked from little kids makes me sick.

This is so ridiculus. Why would our government or any organization try to legislate what someone does or does not find offensive? I agree, to many this flag symbolizes hate, however they are wrong about the flag. I find rap music offensive and I truly believe rap music is more harmful to our society than a stupid flag. How come no one trys to ban rap music?
