Yesterday when Rush was discussing the "Military Experts" rantings about the Israel-Hizbollah war one thing was obviously missing. None of the "Experts" have given any thought at all to the Strategic picture and how Lebanon fits in the larger War on Islamic Fascism.
Israel should be going for the long game, a solution to this decade long cancer NOT a drama queen headline breeding short term military blitz. It would be utterly stupid for Israel to prune back Hizbollah when it is in both their's, and the the NATO powers, interests to completely eject Iran's front group Hizbollah from the Mediterranean Littoral.
All the plans advanced by self styled "Experts" would accomplish is a lot of dead Jews for a short term "Quick fix". Hizbollah would simply bleed the Israelis while pulling back into sanctuary areas in Syria and northern Lebanon. Then when the Israelis could no longer stand the blood and treasure long term occupation was costing them, Hizbollah would simply flow back into the same positions they hold now. And 5 years from now the Israelis would face the same crises in Lebanon. Basically all the "Experts" advocate is that Israel repeat the 1982 war now in 2006.
Like the US in Iraq, Israel should go for a long term FIX that uproots Hizbollah and creates a viable Lebanese Govt that can police its own territory.
That maybe why the Israelis have indicated interested in a NATO force to do in Lebanon what it is currently doing in Afghanistan. Suppress the terrorist groups while the Lebanese build a viable nation state that can provide long term stability.
For Israel, and the West, that outcome would be a durable strategic victory in what will be a very long war

My senator, Senator Santorum just called Rush to say it was not him. Gosh that just makes me wonder why he is so insecure.
Anyone bother to think since Dana Milbanks is a Democrat Party Whore that he is merely mis representing Steele statments to stir up this sort of response? They did the same sort of hit on Santorum claiming he ducked a meeting with Bush. They pulled this crap here in Minnesota with Mark Kennedy. In both cases

My sincere and understanding condolences. Before moving to FL last year I lived similarly in a suburb of Seattle. Were it not for the hinterlands of WA, Seattle is a capital of virtual Communism and Islamo-Fascism. It explains Cantvotewell and dim-bulbMurray. So I do understand. But I am disappointed. Sensei, if he DIDN'T say it and if Milbank is pulling a dirty trick, Steele should come out and say so. Thanks. I can understand him wanting to call then. I am confused over Steele's comments. I just wish that he would not have said anything about Iraq. I don't really care too much of the other stuff. President Bush is a big boy so him getting bashed was probably not taken personally. Katrina I could care less about.
1) He has been vigorously aided by the Republicans and the President, and this is a cowardly way to get your message out: 2) we don't need another Chafee - I'd just let Cardin win - I wouldn't vote for him, but I wouldn't vote for Steele either and 3) Steele already ticked my off when he had McCain stumping for him.
Too say I am disappointed is an understatement. If this is verified, Steele has lost my vote and my support - totally.

You are assuming that the DNC Activist Milibanks accurate reported what Steele said. Would not be the first type the Junk Media types knowing misquoted a Republican to stir up this sort of dissention in the Republican base. They did it to Santorum earlier this year. They did it to Mark Kennedy here in Minnesota. Why not try it out on Steele?

Yeah, it really is stupid for Republican canidates to let themselves be put in these sort of positions. They got to quit trying to get along with these Democrat Activists in the Junk Media. They should go into anything were these Junk Media types are at realizing their blood foes are in the room. There is NO getting along with them.
