Somebody needs to gather all those pictures of UN Diplomats laughing it up with John Bolton and have them on display during his new confirmation hearings.

Warren Hoge--NYT UN bureau chief. Isn't this the guy who leaked the totally inacurrate exit polls on election day? This was data from a now discredited media polling service that was not supposed to be released. As I remember, Hoge began disseminating this false data--that showed Kerry way ahead--to talk shows and other electronic media in an attempt to affect the election.

This really terrific writing. Scott Johnson certainly nails it.

It's a funny thing.... I have often commented here that when I was in high school (back in the '60s) the New York Times had a good reputation. I never questioned it. Now I wonder why the paper EVER had a good reputation.
Maybe it was all just liberal hype.

Superb article; thanks for posting it! The comment about Bolton I like best (from another article) is that he IS serving American interests, and any dislike of him by the "nattering nabobs of negativism" is because the naysayers do NOT have America's best interests at heart, but some other agenda instead. This article zaps and deflates the usual pecksniffian leftist claptrap.

An American envoy to the UN who actually promotes and protects American interests: how completely novel!

All I can say is:

US out of the UN

UN out of the US

Time to try something else, what we've got isn't working.

On the NYT ............

****

Do not fear the enemy, for your enemy can only take your life. It is far better that you fear the press, for they will steal your HONOR. That awful power, the public opinion of a nation, is created in America by a horde of ignorant, self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditching and shoemaking and fetched up in journalism on their way to the poorhouse.

Mark Twain
