If Specter isn't careful, he is going to cost Santorum the election. I think that's his intent, the backstabbing creep!

Arlen Specter is totally ungrateful for the assistance and support provided to him by Bush in 2004, and this is not the first example of that lack of civility toward the Bush White House.

Time for Bush and Rove to dig up some dirt on Arlen.

Spector is such a slimeball.

I wish he would quit giving the rest of us at SPECTRE a bad name. I think that the SPecial Executive Council for Terrorism Revenge Extortion is doing just fine in congress as it is. Except it's called the "Democratic Party" now.

Let's see how Santorum does. The proof is in the pudding, as they say. No matter how hard you wish and hope, it won't change reality. No Republican can win in my city, period, and we just have to choose the least repugnant of the remaining candidates.
I hope you are right but saying it's so doesn't make it true. It's painful and I may be premature but I don't think any amount of clapping is gonna bring back the magic fairy.
I don't advocate giving up however, I believe we have the force of history on our side and will eventually be able to win in areas closed to us now but choosing the correct battles is central to our eventual success.

On another note, Irey has a chance because of very special circumstances and her election will be a great triumph. She could change some people that would never consider voting for a Republican.

This will turn into a constitutional crisis. Bush will simply veto Spinchter's bill.

Bravo Sierra! If 72,125 dead, illegal and repeat voters had voted differently, President Bush would have won PA. RINOs benefit more from Democrat vote fraud than even the Democrats themselves.

Does PA have a law that allows a politician to be recalled?

I'm wondering if Bush (43) is the first president to "sign statements".
Personally, I wish he would veto half the nonsense that crosses his desk from Congress.

He is trying to bypass the checks and balances that our founding fathers put in place. This should be resisted at all costs. Specter has no place in the senate. Hopefully next time he will get knocked off in the primary as he should have been in '04.

Except it's called the "Democratic Party" now. RINOs are just as complicit. Definition of a RINO: A "Republican" whose political enemies and opponents are to the right of him.

I'm a liberal and I think these signing statements are great. Since President Bush set the precedent, democratic Presidents will be able to use them too.... Like I said. I think it's a great idea. I think all Presidents should have more power. Careful, there...
Being a liberal won't get you zotted, per se. FReepers are sometimes tolerant of liberals.
Even being a fool won't get you zotted, per se. FReepers sometimes suffer fools, albeit not gladly.
But being a foolish liberal smart-ass might just require a call to the Viking Kitties. You're in Jim-Rob's living room as a guest. Show respect, even if you disagree mightily.

Arlen is such a tool! The main who came up with the "magic bullet theory" to explain how one bullet could hit and enter two men in the same car in Dallas 1963. Can this guy just go away!!

I dislike Spectre more than the next person but this is not a bad thing IMO. "Signing statements" by any President are an affront to the Constitution.
