The problem the leftists have with people like Lee, Kucinich and McKinney is that they voice aloud the bedrock beliefs and ideals that the vast majority of leftists hold dear. We see them as kooks but the left sees them as bold, principled and progressive (but also as an embarrassment as they know that the more candid the left is about what they really believe the less likely they are win elections).
Other than that, Kucinich is a nutcase who would be antiwar if his own state was overrun by terrorist.
