Hezbollah terrorists fire a missile from the southern Lebanese city of Tyre.
I agree that a cease fire shouldn't be on the table.
But there IS a unique opportunity here given the animosity most Lebanese hold for Syria (and thus for Hezbollah). Yes, there's much talk about how Israel is driving the Lebanese into the arms of Hez/Syria. In fact, I believe Syria thought this would cause the Lebanese to request the return of Syrian troops.
But Condi has a pwerful argument on her side. Which future is brighter for Lebanon?....
Another Syrian occupation with Hez banging the war drums.

An alliance with the West including reconstruction, security training, peace with Israel and a long list of other benefits.

I saw about 20 seconds of that creep yesterday on CNN..immediate of change channel..he's an impossible man.

What a GREAT theme song for Kerry!
He is an absolutely typical representative of both the UN and the worldwide Socialist/globalist/leftist agenda masquerading under the guise of 'humanitarians.'
He's using his 'human rights' position right now to push his viewpoint into the accomodating media, that's for sure. I wonder how many trips he's made to Somalia and the Congo and places like that. How about North Korea? Their entire population is starving. Has he made a trip there? Where's his overriding concern for them?
How do you remain neutral in a kidnapping like that? Terrorist appeasing bastards.
That might be the "peace forest" of Tyre, how could you even think such a thing!? /s

Peretz: This is one the most significant moments in the campaign
Defense Minister Air Peretz said that it was important the world knew that Israel was fighting terror without inhibitions.
"We are in one of the most significant moments of the campaign on the front and on the home front. Israeli citizens are standing bravely and they understand how important it is it to pass this testing hour," Peretz said. (Vered Luvitch) (07.24.06, 15:31)
IDF captures posts controlling Bint Jbeil Forces from the Golani Brigade continue to surround the town of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon. The forces have captured a number of controlling positions east of the town. Fire is being exchanged intermittently in the area. Also, it has been reported that IAF combat helicopters have hit a number of armed men in the area. (Hanan Greenberg) (07.24.06, 15:59)
Pass it on!
(I got tired of them using the word liberal, which has positive connotations, to hide their rottenness. I might call them Left, but I will never refer to them as liberal again.)
We deliver bunker busters to Israel and provide humanitarian support for Lebanon. The irony.
Don't want to upend the thread but A&E has a re-run of 24 on. Palmer is still President and fighting with the wife.
Not all Lebanese are equally guilty. It is not nearly as uniform a place as one might think it is. The Christian militias, which got disarmed along with everybody BUT Hezbollah, are probably ready to kick shiite butt themeselves. Those people are worth helping.
This excerpt from David Horowitz' essay:
"The allied bombings of Dresden, Tokyo, Hiroshima and Nagasaki incinerated hundreds of thousands of civilians for military reasons".
"The allied bombings were designed to break the morale of the enemy and to end the war, and save millions of lives. They did, and we can all be grateful for that (or at least the honest among us can)".
I never use "liberal" to refer to lefties either. Being liberal in the classic sense of the word is honorable.
Not too many civilians in bunkers. Sounds like a good plan to me.
