John Murtha (just when you think he can't say any more stupid things)

US Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania, the senior Democrat on the House Defense Appropriations Committee and an Iraq war critic, was the guest at last Friday's Monitor breakfast.
"We have become occupiers. We cannot win this militarily. But I hesitated to say anything. I waited probably too long. The way we operate militarily is a problem.... We go into a place, we have to blow it up to protect American lives. I agree with that. That's the way we operate to protect Americans.
On what would change if the Democrats retook control of the House:
"Accountability is going to be the key. Corruption, talk about corruption ... there [are] billions of dollars that disappeared and we don't know where it is. We have all kinds of stories which haven't been followed up.... The biggest deficiency among all the other mistakes is no accountability in this administration ... I think checks and balances have gotten out of kilter."
On why he is running for House majority leader:
"I think I can help because I am more conservative.... There is an idea that [the Democrats'] leadership is very liberal and I think I bring some balance to that leadership."
On whether the press has been an active enough watchdog during the war in Iraq:
"I blame some of you guys, too. You guys knew this wasn't going well. You didn't say a damn word, either. You just sat back and were afraid to speak out. I don't know whether it was access or what. But you sat back and did nothing either.

I admire your consistent and tireless effort on behalf of your candidate. You invariably post on any relevant thread. Thanks. This ol' Jarhead doesn't like EX-Marines selling out troops he's authorized to wage combat.

[Murtha's] poll number gotta be headed down. Let's hope so. But he still has a lot of money with which to attack Ms. Irey. If she's able to raise enough to get her message out, though, I think she can send this goon packing.

"For many, many years, he was in Washington, under the radar, bringing home the pork and all of a sudden he's a kos-head socialist peacefreak" It was when facelift Pelosi started whispering sweet nothings into his ear that he became the freak he is now.

Murtha has learned the pathological actions of democrats very well. He is guilty of virtually everything he accuses his opponents of doing. Bottom line: Murtha has nothing but contempt for the American people and our military. Otherwise, he'd never make such absurd claims.
Murtha doesn't think he's going to be held accountable for his actions, but his jig will soon be up.
If you haven't seen it, He can't stay on topic and demonstrates that he's a fool in the spoof summit.

Maybe all his defense appropriations aren't being appropriated like he'd promised. Well something certainly has his panties in a knot.

"Forgot to ping you earlier. You'll find this Murtha verbal vomit amusing, in a "rip your hair from your head and stab a pencil in your eye" sort of way."
That's ok Coop. Since I started work at Home Depot, I do not have much time to check the boards, as before. In short, shot most of the time.
One can only hope that his base support shall diminish as he continues to spout out words of wisdom. When mad dogs bark at the wrong hours, sometimes the master gets totally disturbed.

We just need to make sure his district's voters hears his idiotic rants.

Another thing that gets me about this guy is that his constituents don't seem to have a clue what a moonbat freak he is.
I saw a news story a couple months ago and they had some voice clips of people in his district. First they asked peoples opinions of Murtha and they all fawned over the guy.
Then they started quoting Murtha and most of them were surprised that he would say anything like that.

That's why it's critical that we all support Diana Irey financially or, if a person is located in or near her district, by volunteering time to the campaign.

True, but it doesn't mean Irey will beat him. That is the trouble with non competitive districting in the House. He and Kerry's statements today make one think that possibly some Dem voters will finally realize how demented some of their Party leaders are. But, I dream!
To: phillyfanatic
It doesn't mean he'll beat Irey either. Your assertion that this district is not competitive is not accurate.
2004: Kerry - 51%, Bush - 49%
