I asked the same question in post #50 and was answered in post #51. We're cuttin' our own throats.

I too feel that one is EITHER an American OR something else. I don't see how one can give their alligance to more than one nation (dual citizenships)...It seems like promising to "keep yourself only" to two husbands.

Absolutely, Bravo Zulu for our Navy and Marine warriors doing what they do so well, together.

Kudos to the Lebanonese police and military for helping these people to board the LSU.

That's not really much of an answer - it just exlains what's going on.

Given the utterly horrific things that have happened in some civilian evacuations from combat zones, and what could have happened here, the U.S. and Israeli militaries have done a fantastic job with this evacuation.

Perhaps a State Dept. that hands out passports like candy?

When I worked for the U.S. Passport Office, there was only some small print on the application asking people to declare if they had dual-citizenship.

The only ones who did had Israeli citizenship, and they would explain it as something forced on them as part of the "Law of Return".

Except in the case of a Winston Churchill, we should discourage it. And certainly not promote it to get Olympic medals.

Welcome back, and thanks for your work abroad in our country's interests.
