Interesting. Frank is getting them to think about the rule of law. They had no snappy answer for the fathers comments that if they would give him amnesty he would open a business and then hire.... ILLEGALS! Frank is right, they "don't get the basics."

Recycling Center - she fails to bring the items presorted or at least layered.

25 minutes in Frank the Minuteman is showing signs of succumbing to the humanity factor. In the meantime the father and daughter have scoffed at the idea that a Cuban-born citizen is really accepted as an American.

The college-age daughter is crushed by a rejection letter from Princeton and seems to assume it's about her "race" or her parents' illegal status.

Frank tries to explain the requirement for law and order while the family looks at the corners of the room. They take him to a pro-illegal demonstration where illegals have been given a load of U.S flags to wave. This reaffirms his core values. Fascinating to see my worst suspicions of illegal alien mentality confirmed.

I'm waiting for the episode where the Jew lives with a group of suicide bombers...

Day 23 - Frank accompanies the alien to visit relatives in Mexico. What a hellhole! Same old story - conditions so bad that a working male felt forced to invade in order to provide for his family. I see a land poorly maintained with contaminated water and absolutely no development. Frank wisely drinks bottled beverages he brought along while swatting at giant cockroaches. Points out how such miserable conditions makes one's heart bleed for them (but still refuses to give in to letting them all migrate).

Day 25 - They return from Mexico (jeez, Spurlock left out the best part!) and Frank gets to use technology to show the kids their relatives stuck in Mexico. The alien is stuck on the idea that the only way to help them is to bring them here, even if they have to exist as illegals like he does. In the emotionally-overcharged summation Frank expresses hesitation to go back on Patrol but maintains that he can't turn his back on our country's rule of law.

Oh happy day - the daughter is accepted at Santa Clara University in a letter mewling diversity and other meaninglessness. Tearful goodbyes and Frank tells us that it was difficult to become close to people he politically opposes - while the end credits say he's still a Minuteman but can't do more than badgering politicians at this point.

I'm starting to think that Spurlock's projects are not so much attempts to expand citizens minds but exercises in creative sadism.

What can one say, but.... Yep. You are right. They just don't get it. They still have the mentality that the law is ony "the offical story" but here ie what we are really gonna do...

Total bs, Frank already said he will probably be a the kickoff of Operation Sovereignty on September 11.

I watched some of this episode and got bored.

Of course your heart goes out to the illegals. The daughter was a charming young lady who managed to pull A's living in a tiny apt with 7 other family members.

The father was a decent hard working man.

Still whats the point?

We cannot take in all of South America.

Got this in e-mail today.

The producers of the FX series 30 Days seemed to get caught with their political agenda showing, resulting in one of the liveliest sessions of the summer network press tour.

“My wife and I looked at this, and I felt the floor had come out from under my feet. `My God, what have they done? I have been misrepresented.’ This is what I have believed all along: no amnesty, no immigration reform plan of any kind from this president; put the regular military on the border and seal it so nobody can come over illegally.

“Were they fair to me with respect to that representation? I would say no.”

George said he called the producers and complained, “You guys screwed me. Let’s be very clear about that. Everything that you have shown in this last 5 percent is out of context. Give America the truth as to who I am and what I believe.”

In fact, as soon as his stay in east L.A. ended, George said he headed straight for Crawford, Texas, to protest outside President Bush’s ranch that the government isn’t being tough enough on those here illegally.

“We stand entirely by the episode,” executive producer R.J. Cutler said. “We feel it is truthful and fair.” Nothing was taken out of context, Cutler maintained.

“It was,” George insisted. “It makes it seem like I’ve seen the light. They had an agenda and they played it out until the bitter end.”

Be sure to watch the end of the video where the head of FX publicity, John Solberg freaks out. Funny stuff!

Typing while looking back and forth from the board and the set (especially difficult to report while too much is in subtitles) inevitably results in a few unintentional errors.

Here's the remainder:

On second viewing I caught how the family was overjoyed that they were sent someone from their "race" - a fellow Latino. This attitude was reflected by the well-educated daughter. I also caught how the parents have been here for 23 years and either can't or refuse to converse in English at all. Rigoberto the alien earns $15,000 a year to support seven family members (here), two of the youngest regarded as citizens by our government. During the discussion with the family about Frank's American values Rigoberto appeared to be stoned to the bone. In a Mexican restaurant Frank confronted a classic ex-hippie caucasion liberal and gave him righteous hell - which seriously frightened the host family.

Despite being here over two decades the English-ignorant mother keeps their life savings in a little boot that all the world knows now knows about. She never seemed to consider the repercussions...she is, in fact, a person so obstinately backward that it becomes obvious why she and millions like her need a "nanny state".

Merry Fitzmas to you, Blackirish! You know I'm not advocating any sympathy for these people...cruel as it seems they need to be forced to go. Only through the pressure of repatriation will the corrupt homelands they came from be forced to fix themselves.

I was so pissed when he called Frank "an anti-immigration Minuteman." Uh, no. He is not anti-immigration. He is anti ILLEGAL immigration.

I told my fiance, a legal immigrant, that episode was going to be totally pro illegal immigration. He didn't believe me. I should have put money on it.

I also wish, they would have shown more about what Frank said about the Che posters. I gotta imagine he had more to say than "that's about revolution." I think they cut all the stuff he must have said about him being a mass murderer.

It would not appear so from the clips. One has a teenager girl saying, "I am an asset to this country." I wonder what she means by that? Does she get any social services? What is she contributing? Does she really know what an asset is?

Unfortunately, I think that attitude is created in the country from whence they came. I don't know how difficult it is to change those attitudes.

“It makes it seem like I’ve seen the light.

I'd have bet my last money on that "outcome."

I was unable to watch the segment. Thanks to those here who provided La Vista de FX context.

I'm still curious as to any remuneration received by both the illegals and Frank for this We're-not-in-Kansas-anymore-Toto portrayal of the invasion of a sovereign nation.

The e-mail contained a link to the film but I don't know how to post it.

I'd be more than happy to forward the e-mail to anyone that wants it.

Judging from the couple of million or so illegals marching in our streets I would conclude that it is impossable.

I just used the search feature to find this posting. I saw the episode and the thing that hit home again and again and again was how the bright, college bound daughter could not recognize the fact that she is ILLEGAL and has no right to ANYTHING here. She constantly and conciously used the term immagrant(s) throughout the episode, not even wanted to preface it with "undocumented" if she could avoid doing so. A highly irritating and slanted episode....like many he does.
