Now I'm sort of on real time with this one.
Allegra, I was just wondering if you have any run-ins with the lovely Camel Spider over there so far?
Really slow tonite, just saw a 6 minute gap between posts.
IBP75 (In before post 75)
Good morning to you all.
"Real time" means "real close" in your case. I'll just thank God that our troops and president, Israel, and Allegra are handling it those blessed hours ahead of Austin, Texas and my kids. Y'all keep it up, and get 'er done!
{shudder!} Yes, in Taji in '04. It was in my living container.
It came down from my overhead light when I went in there and flipped it on. It scurried under my bed. (While I stood frozen with horror - LOL)
I went wide-eyed and freaked out to our vector control guy and got some lethal stuff from him and used chemical warfare on it.
I relearned to type staying up all night on the march to Baghdad live thread.. You are staying awake during mortar attacks at times I'll bet..but are too busy with your job there to pull all nighters, I am sure! I am sleepy and I think I'll say goodnight. Stay safe.
Prayers for Israel..May God keep Safe All Who Serve Our Country.
Yep!! Burbank Karl goes to all the trouble of starting a new thread, then Fox makes Shep go to bed, and it seems like everybody on the 7/22 thread was so worn out from pounding on him, that they went to bed too!!
Thanks for your service! So are those spiders really that big? Just EEEWWWW!
I kept seeing on TV today, "600,000 Lebanese people displaced" in this war. My MIL will have a fit; she's on their side. I will ask her if she knows how many Israelis will be "displaced" if Hezbolla has their way . . . aren't there 1.2 million + Israelis?
Yes, I pulled some very late nights during that time. I remember watching the Saddam statue come down live in the wee hours of the morning Houston time. I remember hearing that Baghdad Bob was going to speak and waiting in anticipation because he always made me laugh and he did not fail me that night.
Watching all of that, I never dreamed that in less than a year, I would be right there where all of that was happening.
Once I'm asleep, I'm out. I've slept through my share of mortar and rocket attacks and was also once awakened by incessant pounding on my door to go get in the bunker during an attack. When I finally blearily answered the door, the security guy said "How are you SLEEPING throught this???" (Two had alerady hit real close....I was told.)
I said "I dunno, but it's 1:15 in the moring. I'll take my chances." And I started to walk back toward my bed. He had to grab my arm and practically drag me to that bunker. LOL
Have a good sleep and I'll see you in your morning!
I'm the same way; I have a hard time staying away from the news in times of war. AFter 9/11 I hardly slept for weeks.
People were pounding on Shep? He's cute, but does get overly dramatic at times. I thought Geraldo was heading over there!
This one wasn't as big as the ones I've seen in pictures, but it was still the biggest spider I've ever seen in my life. The body was about tangerine sized and the legs were LONG.
I hope it's the last one I ever see.
On Hezbollah's side?
In before 5 minutes between replies!!!
Can you guys specify the timezone when you do the headline updates?
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!!
God Bless our Troops and Civilian Contractors!!
