The New York Times reported Saturday that the decision to rush the shipment was reached after little debate within the administration.
When is the New York Times going to "get it" and shut the hell up...unless disinformation has been fed to them, someone somewhere with the authority to do so needs to help them "get it."
They are acting like snotty high school journalism students encoding articles with secret messages about the principal...the stakes are too high with what the NY Times is printing.

An American - Islamic group - Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the Bush administration to stop the deal, saying that the rush delivery at a time of war would be "unconscionable."Every once in awhile, I read something like this and cannot think of an adjective adequate to its incredible stupidity.

"Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the Bush administration to stop the deal, saying that the rush delivery at a time of war would be "unconscionable."" A ringing endorsement from CAIR! Great stuff! For our good friend Israel, it's time for some good customer discounts and some "two for one" blue light specials. No limit!

Who gives a fat rat's a** what CAIR thinks?????
The US "gave" hundred of cases of Sidewinder missiles to Israel during their 1975 Live Fire Exercise. Where the Syrians discovered that the superb Air To Air Missile could and in countless instances, did destroy Syrian tanks.
Is it any wonder that the IAF/IDF has been the Real World/Live Fire R&D Section for US armaments ever since?
Jack.

The leadership of CAIR should have been rounded up in 2001.

The "smart bombs" - bombs which are equipped with precision guidance devises, are part of an arms deal reached months ago between Israel and the US, but the fighting in Lebanon led Israel to ask for an expedited delivery of the bombs, before the agreed scheduled of supply. It is SOOOOO lame for the MSM to try to make hay out of this.

If CAIR is whining about it, then I say we send a few more smart bombs to Israel, and give them to Israel at a discount.

US is stressing that the early shipment should not be seen as an emergency supply to help Israel So much about the crazy US/Israeli relationship is in this fact.
Even as almost all US politicians- and most Americans- all agree Israel is in the right and should be supported, even as there is always a claim of a "special relationship", even as the US is actually helping Israel with this shipment- the US still needs to show it is not supporting a friend at war
Israel remains the American mistress- young, fun, a great lay and maybe even loved in a way- but not to be seen together in polite company.
