The US is rushing a delivery of "smart bombs" to Israel after Israel indicated it needed the bombs for its military campaign against the Hizbullah.
The New York Times reported Saturday that the decision to rush the shipment was reached after little debate within the administration.
The "smart bombs" - bombs which are equipped with precision guidance devises, are part of an arms deal reached months ago between Israel and the US, but the fighting in Lebanon led Israel to ask for an expedited delivery of the bombs, before the agreed scheduled of supply.
According to the report, the US is stressing that the early shipment should not be seen as an emergency supply to help Israel, but rather as a change of schedule in a deal which was previously agreed upon.
An American - Islamic group - Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the Bush administration to stop the deal, saying that the rush delivery at a time of war would be "unconscionable."

Let'em drop. Terrorists must be stopped. There has to be consequences with acts of terrorism. These bombs are those consequences.

Should this be public? Looks like the New York Times is our enemy once again.

One would think that the Israelis with their military electronics/aerospace industry would have designed and manufactured their own GPS add-on kit by now.

Doesn't precision weapon reduce the change of missing the target, and reduce the chance of unintended collateral damage to civilians?
If CAIR cared about the lives of innocent Arab civilians shouldn't they applaud this?
Unless, of course CAIR *wants* more innocent Arab civilians killed so they can help their PR campaign against Israel.
Nah, that couldn't be.

Its only a very small country.
They can't make everything or make everything in enough quantities during a war.
Remember we had to supply vast quantities of arms and ammunition to the British during WWII as well, and even when the British fought the Falklands War.
And Britain is a much bigger country than Israel.

I would expect that from an islamic organization. So, what they're saying is that they would prefer that Israel use dumb bombs so that civilian casualties would be maximized? Apparently they, like so many of their muslim brethren in the ME, could care less about the deaths of innocents.

How would they like them delivered? Just provide the coordinates and the USAF can get them there in a hurry. Multiple coordinates? No problem!
