Foxnews Alert!
A modern tank division uses some variety of armored personnel carrier to move the infantry. They don't pile them on the back of tanks.
For all I know, though, this is what the Israelis do.
Lots of civilians commonly mistake the Army's Bradley Fighting Vehicle for a tank.
That is delicious looking... I trust your A/C is humming... KFWB now reports 102 downtown. I guess I could invest in indoor and outdoor thermometers.
I do not have A/C, but a trusty fan, keep blinds nearly shut; and, fortunately, am a little under 5 miles from the beach.
According to Wikipedia, he's living in UAE with his family.
It's a mess in the fact that it is "messy", not all cleaned up of it's terrorist insurgents.
For the terrorist problem to be solved they have to be completely destroyed, dead and gone. Anything less puts off the problem for another day.
I don't see the parallel because the situations are very different, even though the enemy is the same.
We have multiple purposes in Iraq in that we are not only defeating terrorists (at a very successful pace, btw), but we are also assisting Iraq form a sovereign government, establishing a democracy there, building up their own security forces, and building up the infrastructure that Saddam destroyed (and our troops are succeeding at all of those things).
Israel is destroying the terrorist network in a neighboring country that is trying to destroy them. They have only one responsibility, and that is self-preservation by killing terrorists and achieving victory through military force alone.
Therefore, I disagree with your premise entirely that what they are doing will result in a 'real mess'........even using your definition.
They will prevail, and it will be sooner rather than later.
"Best post of the day award."
From one Michigander to another, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I understand that Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah and someday the rest of the world will recognize that.
However Jewish people do not feel that way. They feel that the reign of the Messiah lies in the future.
For Christians to think that Jewish people will someday recognize their beliefs as "the truth" is not much different, IMO from the Islamists belief that someday the world will recognize Allah as the Messiah.
So while I have utmost respect for different dogmas, Christians must understand that beliefs and traditions deeply rooted in Judiasm that have been around longer than Christianity are not going away anytime soon.
From the The Jewish Virtual Library:
"The Jewish belief that the Messiah's reign lies in the future has long distinguished Jews from their Christian neighbors who believe, of course, that the Messiah came two thousand years ago in the person of Jesus. The most basic reason for the Jewish denial of the messianic claims made on Jesus' behalf is that he did not usher in world peace, as Isaiah had prophesied: "And nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore" (Isaiah 2:4). In addition, Jesus did not help bring about Jewish political sovereignty for the Jews or protection from their enemies."
Oh..good grief.. That is a very disturbing ...but not surprising picture.
Prayers for Israel.
If the Jewish people believe that the Messiah is coming, I've already stated that it isn't viewed as anti-Christian. Yet, once again you insist on this analogy and further it with an even worse analogy to Muslims saying everyone will accept Allas as the Messiah.
Notwithstanding the sheer poor Islam Messiah reference, I find both analogies poor, but it's in especially poor taste to suggest the Muslim reference as Christians don't endorse any type of violence that the Koran endorses on the "unbeliever" and that's just an out and out poor choice of words.
No wonder Fox News is kicking arse!!! Jeniffer Griffin is superb reporting at the Israeli front line. Where's CNN and PMSNBC... No where to be found :)
OK, agreed it's not a good analogy. But to suggest that someday the Jewish people will forsake their traditions and believe differently can be viewed as condescending if not insulting.
We believe that the earthly kingdom will be established when Jesus comes for the second time. Our Messiah has already come, and He is coming again. The confusion lies around the purposes for His first and second coming.
But please do not compare us to the Islamics. We are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and the Jewish people are our brothers and sisters. We love the Jewish people and pray for their salvation, the Islamics hate them and try to bring abour their anhilation
In no way would a true Christian ever move to harm Isreal. We believe at the establishment of Christ's thousand year reign on earth, that all nations will be judged by the way they treated Israel.
"Actually very little Iranian oil comes to the USA. China and Russia will be badly hurt, that is why this a good plan!!!"
?? So China will just suffer in silence instead of using up some of the billions of dollars it has sitting around to compete with us to buy whatever supply is available ?
..." that all nations will be judged by the way they treated Israel."
Absurd ... That God will treat individuals based on the acts of the government where they live ...
