"First reports suggest that here was an unarmed media crew suddenly subject to an unprovoked attack by Israeli soldiers," said IFJ General Secretary Aidan White. "If true, it is an astonishing and terrifying example of targeting and the Israeli authorities must give an explanation as to how this happened." According to Al Jazeera, correspondent Guevara Al Budeiri was in the process of filming a live report when the team was interrupted by a fast-approaching Israeli military vehicle. What follows next is confusing but there was firing and technician Wael Tantous was slightly injured. He was treated at a hospital and later released.
Israeli Answer: We don't know exactly how it happened, but rest assured people will be disciplined severely. A "slight injury" where Al Jazeera is concerned is wholly unacceptable.

IFJ Calls on Israel to Explain Shooting of Al Jazeera News Crew Member in Palestine ...???....well ya see, it was like this. The projectile left the weapon, fired by a highly trained individual who, at the time, was positioned in a moving vehicle. The fact that the cameraman/union member/al jazeera employee was only injured is indeed a troubling development. We train our soldiers to kill....of course the incident will be investigated. The wind speed, flying depry, dust, and other contributing factors will all be taken into account. I hope our initial response indicates our concern and maybe next time there will be better results. Have a great day.

"Israel needs to make an immediate and clear account of this incident," White said.
I wonder if 'Go To Hell!' would be immediate and clear for Mr. White?

Hilarious! FMJ is one of my all-time favorites!
IDF Sergeant to Al Jazeera correspondent lying on the ground writhing in pain:
"What's your excuse, scumbag?"

Interesting background:
Israeli journalists pull out of IFJ
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1153291961355&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull
"The Israel Association of Journalists decided on Thursday to suspend its membership in the International Federation of Journalists to protest the association's condemnation of Israel's attacks on Hizbullah's Al-Manar television network.
"Al Manar gets its budget from the same people firing upon us," said the Israeli representative on the IFJ executive, Israel Radio broadcaster Yaron Enosh. 'They are not journalists, they are terrorists and I won't be a member of the same organization as terrorists.'
"Enosh told The Jerusalem Post that the IFJ's defense of Al-Manar was the straw that broke the camel's back after three years of repeated IFJ condemnations of Israel. He said the organization made no comment when five Israeli and foreign journalists were harmed by Hizbullah fire.

subject to an unprovoked attack by Israeli soldiers
That's a matter of opinion. As far as I'm concerned if al jazeera enters a war zone they are just as much enemy combatants as Hamas or Hezballah. I say there is nothing"unprovoked" about attacking the slime of al zajeera.

Hesbolla and their supporters are an ignorant culture as well as an easily-swayed, gullible, kool aid drinking people. They are swayed by false prophets spewing false promises as to a better life after death. (How would these son's of former goat herders know unless their current 4 legged bed partners keep them happy during the cold winter nights).
And why is it that these So-Called Spiritual Leaders ALWAYS ASK for the less fortunate to commit Hari-Kari ONLY AFTER THEY GIVE THEM THEIR POWER OF ATTORNEY, YOUNG,and/or MENTALLY HANDICAPPED CHILDREN to commit suicide on their behalf, all for the paltry sum of $25,000.00.

Reminds me of a cartoon I saw in Playboy many years ago. An obviously drunken man is standing in his doorway facing his wife, who has an ominous frown on her face. "I can explain the lipstick on my collar, darling," he says. "I used my shirt to wipe off my pecker!"

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) called Thursday on the Israeli Army to explain a shooting incident Wednesday in Nablus, in which a news crew of TV satellite channel Al Jazeera was fired upon and a technician injured. He was a bad shot. What else do you need explained?

Take what I am about to tell you to heart. If ANY HEZBOLLA rockets hit Tel Aviv.....Al Jazeera will cease to exist.

IFJ Calls on Israel to Explain Shooting of Al Jazeera News Crew Member in Palestine It's when you aim a firearm at the technician, you pull the trigger, the firing pin hits the cartridge, the gases expand in the chamber, the bullet comes out the barrel and keeps going until it hits the technician...but that's not important right now.
