Cool! My brother moved to McGregor, TX near Waco a few months ago. And get this, they are liberals....and they love it!!!!!!

Wow, scary! Don't forget the DNC was held pretty much right in front of my office and who was the one who went across the street to talk to the young people from Israel? Me! just me. They barely bothered to talk about politics then. Crazy! I am crazy living the big Massachusetts joke. Thanks for all your advice.

I dont have any liberal freinds. I am not saying I hate liberals. I just find I tend to gravitate to people with the same beliefs as I do. I have Lib co workers and occasionally we trade freindly jabs, but know not to get into it.

The reason is Liberals have become the conservative party-- not in a practical political sense but as a matter of power.

Liberals have been so thoroughly defeated in the public sphere that they have no choice now but to try to "conserve" the small amounts of power that they have.

This slow slide to nothingness is accomplished by silencing their opponents. The public positions of democrats are so transparently contradictory and weak that public argument can only lead to further demolition.

See their silence as a confession of weakness.

I know exactly what your going through (and am also going through a divorce with my wife). I live in NH and commute to the North Shore for work (just got a new job there) and the place is crawling with Libs (so was my old job). This guy on the other side of the wall is a major Blow hard and has a gaggle of people around him and bloviates all morning long about the "good ol' Klinton days", an recites stories from NPR.
I just smile as I walk by to the coffee room at the folks but never get involved. Not worth the effort, concentrate on the job not the idle chatter.
If asked directly about your views, then state your political affiliation and leave it at that.

PS: Maybe the Freepers should have a "lonely Conservatives" club meeting sometime in the Mass. area.

No choice, can't shun them. I work in software in Boston, Massachusetts. Only solution is just to never let the subject be politics, at the office. Outside the office either, with people from it. Politics is strictly a topic for those who are not co-workers. There is no possibility of working together with that much bad blood, and no company can afford the destruction of working cooperation. Ergo, no politics at work, ever.

I don't have to like it - I'd rather be in New Hampshire or Arizona among a different sort of crowd. But the work is here, and it is the only practical course.

Their feeling is people should be able to believe what they want, worship who they want and that's it.

That belief would make them conservatives.

I've got no problem talking to them, about anything really. I just won't talk about politics. If they goad me I just say "I'm sorry, I don't talk about politics on the job".

what the heck does that mean?

the libs that do talk just talk out their ass and it is very easy to correct their ‘mistakes.’ The problem though is they will not listen even if you show them sourced facts they accept to the contrary.
