For a long time I have felt that the US ought to extend refugee status to EUropeon Jews, particularly French Jews, since the attitudes there are so antisemitic. Though this is not likely to happen any time soon, thankfully these Jews have the option of emigrating to Israel, an option not available to their grandparents in the 1930's and 1940's.
