An Israeli soldier scouts the area near the Israel-Lebanon border, July 20, 2006.
Goodness, hope your sister is OK!
A senior western intelligence official told NBC News that his government expects Israeli troops to move into Lebanon "sometime overnight."
The official said "We don't think the air campaign has worked. We think the air campaign has not been very effective and they [the Israelis] realize they will have to move quickly."

I pray that your sister is alright...let us know.
Well, yes, it was nasty mean. But Shep brings out my inner virago. LOL!
You can bet they wouldn't say anything as offensive to a Muslim calling to protest the bombings in Lebanon.
This is old, but I don't think anything's changed that much for hairplug Joe:
Yeah, probably a senior Lebanese official...from Western Lebanon.
My sister is okay. Said it was a big boom.
A few days after 9/11, we had a minor (very minor) earthquake in town here and everyone thought the terrorists had hit the Savannah River Site (SRS) which is a half hour from here. They store nuclear material there.
MSNBC just interupted live news from the ME to cover a car chase in Houston.
LOL! Heaven forbid we miss a car chase!
Good news!
And the reporterette is sooooo excited, too. LOL
Is Denny Hastert drunk?
Did he just say that Hezbollah was a political party and we should talk with them????
Is he drinking taquiyyah tequila down there at the border or what?
No...conventional....non fuel air,
FAS.org
BLU-82B
Frequent press reports to the contrary, the Daisy Cutter is not a fuel-air explosive (FAE). It is a conventional explosive incorporating both agent and oxidizer. In contrast, an FAE consists only of agent and a dispersing mechanism, and takes its oxidizer from the oxygen in the air. FAEs generally run between 500 and 2000 pounds; it would be difficult to make an FAE the size of Daisy Cutter because the correct uniform mixture of agent with ambient air would be difficult to maintain if the agent were so widely dispersed. Thus, the conventional explosive technique of Daisy Cutter is more reliable than that of an FAE, particularly if there is significant wind or thermal gradient.
Shift..
Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Dan Halutz told reporters in Tel Aviv on Friday that any military incursion into Lebanon will be limited in scope.
Parrot:
I hope this is just psychological warfare.
Israel is hammering Hez all around..especially Bekaa.
IDF need to go Bekaa Boots on the ground with Mech.
If Bekaa is not a defeat....Hez will claim victory.
Damascus needs to hear the thuds and see smoke rising....worry : )
Come on Israel....Just say NO to political whatever : )
Oh...dear, are you listening to Dennis Hastert on Fox right now??
Neil Cavuto just asked him if Hezbollah needs to be "gone, obliterated"..and Hastert said that Hezbollah is a "party" in Lebanon and he prefers diplomacy!!!!
OMG...that is totally opposite of the stance of Bush, Condi, John Bolton...in fact, I haven't heard anyone use the "well they are a 'party'" line to possibly settle for a diplomatic move, which would KEEP Hezbollah in Lebanon, especially Southern Lebanon.
Is anyone else as suprised by this as I am?
I'm recalling another incident in your neck of the woods. Involving some sort of chemical exposure to several people I believe. A train involved perhaps...?
People missing from their homes...am I remembering correctly?
That is where he was going on his vacation.
We have dear friends and some family in that area...glad it wasn't worse than it was.
