They are going to have to come up with a way to detect these things. It seems to be a way of life over there. First it was Saddam and his underground bunkers and OBL and his tunnel systems. We have to find a way to not only detect them, but collapse them as well.
Looks like we need underground drones.
Perhaps we can look for plumes of CO2 enriched atmosphere coming from the ground and moving with the wind. Supposedly many insect pest can find their 'hosts' by following the CO2 plume.
Iraq, Iran, etc, etc. They all have stinking cities under their cities.
We could subcontract out a demolition job to the Viet Cong. They're pretty good in tunnels as well.

Seismic sensors can do this. and they can do it from the air.
