Hillary Clinton Asks Oprah Winfrey to Be Running Mate in 2008?

Hillary Clinton Asks Oprah Winfrey to be Running Mate in 2008? By Cris Bergman Jul 19, 2006

A published report will claim that Oprah may have a new suitor from the political spectrum.

A report set for Star Magazine's weekly offering will claim that Hillary Clinton has put out a feeler to see if Oprah would consider the veep spot on the 2008 ticket.

That should send shock waves through DC and especially the Republican Party.

Though Hillary has yet to declare her official candidacy it is near certain that she will run and she is far and away the Democratic frontrunner for the gig.

The weekly magazine has this item:

New York Senator Hillary Clinton mad a bid to snag Oprah Winfrey as her running mate in the 2008 presidential elections.

"Hillary thought that with Oprah's pulling power they'd be a shoe-in," the friend says. "So she sent Oprah an e-mail to ask her if she'd be interested. But when Oprah got it, she wasn't sure if Hillary was being serious or if it was a joke."

The whole thing actually reads like a joke, but stranger things have happened in Washington DC.

And it may take Oprah's star power to make Hillary Clinton electable as she is under attack from the left wing of her party and of course will face a tough time from the GOP.

Cue the rep™: No denials yet.

"Oprah said she's NOT gay." Hillary hasn't.

The Onion or Scrappleface?

If Oprah was elected, we would all be happy, we'd share our feelings, we'd be nice to everyone, we'd all get free new cars, we'd hug a lot, we'd find closure.

Golly gee, things would just be all swell!

We'd all just be so darned happy, happy, happy.

Martha Stewart could redecorate the entire country.

"I worked with a woman who would literally die for her and was arrested for assaulting a Rick Lazio minor campaign worker (someone just handing out pamphlets). I despise Hillary Clinton."

All "liberal" Democrats are violent, hate filled, intolerant fascists.

I've said it many times, Hillary Clinton is the end of the world.

You despise her? I hate, loathe AND despise her. What a vile loathsome dangerous woman.

On the other hand, would you want to be President when Hillary is Vice-President?

Would an insurance company sell you life insurance?

Lloyd's of London will insure almost any thing.

A 5 million dollar life insurance policy.

The premium 6 million per year

The hag does not care if she is gay, she already has a lover, she is looking to steal opies money. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hillary could use all that cash for her campaign. On another note.

If there is any truth to this, which I am quite sure there isn't, I'd have to point out that one does not ask someone to potentially be the vice president of the United States in an EMAIL. Paleeez

IMO, Hillary's voice and hateful personality should disqualify her from running for any office not to mention her duplicity and disregard for our national security. But, by Liberal standards, she's overly qualified.

I don't have any use for OW, but I suspect that rather than reviving long-past misdeeds, we might want to focus on who she is now. If she had continued using drugs and doing other bad things, then the old crack use is relevant; since, as far as I know, she has been a productive, law-abiding member of society, and stupidity in her early adulthood isn't relevant.

Hilary, on the other hand, is the same old doer-of-misdeeds that she always has been. In her case, old history is also current history.

And, yeah, cute crack puns.

This would widen the electoral "gender gap" to a yawning chasm on the scale of the Grand Canyon.

God Bless Oprah, but I'm sure I'm exactly like the vast majority of American males, for whom Oprah avoidance is a way of life, even a creed.

It's not so much Oprah herself (although it is somewhat Oprah herself) as much as the screamed greetings, creepy syncophancy, and cloying earnestness or her fans and proponents.

Some woman is always trying to get you to watch a "very special" Oprah show she's taped that will change your life. Just the one time, just the one segment, mind you. That's how it starts. You cannot give in to this, even once. There IS NO "even once".

The Oprah threat is manageable so long as Oprah is mostly confined to discrete venues such as her T.V. show and her magazine. But let the possibility arise that "Oprah moments" may arise anywhere, anytime -- even during THE NEWS fergodssake! -- and you will see American males politically galvanized as never before.

Sorry, but crack use will be an issue when talk of a vice presidency comes up.

Hillary's playing Oprah's audience. She has no intention of playing second fiddle to Oprah.

This woman is a nasty, vicious, bitter, angry old crone. If I had not already been a conservative she would have made me one. Not for anything would I vote the way she does. She used to walk around the office with a Hillary for Senator button on, truly an idiot.
