The government denied this allegation afterwards. However, JoongAng Ilbo has not retracted this story so far. Since the government has a habit of playing down N. Korean provocation, it is possible they are covering it up. So I am posting it. If it turned out to be false, I will post a disclaimer, too.

The ronery one must be feeling very neglected these days. All the attention is off him and his fireworks show, now focused on Lebanon. He will have to trump that if he wants the limelight back - and that's not good.

Funny thing I ready in Coulter's book. The one item that seemed to tip the 2000 presidential election in Bush's favor was the number of cuban-americans who showed great disdain towards Gore for his administration's handling of Elian Gonzalez return to cuba. A small boy who, through divine intervention, floated for two days in the middle of the ocean to be saved.

Was Bush "picked" to lead the U.S. at a time when his type of leadership was going to be needed? He doesn't make decisions based on polls. He does it probably in the same manner that Reagan made decisions towards confronting the former Soviet Union. Because he believes it is the right thing to do. He named North Korea, Iran, and Iraq as the axis of evil. Who can say that this claim is wrong, now that we know all that we know?

TLR, where are you? If the balloon goes up in N.K. and Syria, things will get very interesting.

Kim Il Jong will be "removed" from power soon. The new leader will be much different.

Mr. Roh is certainly most responsible for this situation, aside from the "Glorious Leader" (maybe "Fearless Leader" is more accurate, a la Rocky and Bullwinkle)Kim Jong Il and his faction in the North.

The question is this: Is Mr. Roh dismayed or is he pleased? All the world wonders.

I oscillate from one opinion to the other. "He can't be that dumb." "He just can't that smart."

It would be fun to ask him on live national television "Did you do this on purpose or are you just a stupid fool?"

I read this as such - and this may be off the reservation, but here goes: North Korea fears that the situation in the Middle East is about to collapse - that Tel Aviv is going to suffer a WMD attack of some sort. At which point, rogue nations will pay the piper, whether they are directly connected to said act or not.
