The unnamed sources are quoted by the Palestinian Authority-based news agency Ma'an as saying: "The Lebanese resistance is preparing a retaliation parallel to Israel's military actions. Hassan Nasrallah will address the people of Tel Aviv and warn them to evacuate the city within one hour. As soon as the delay ends, hundreds of heavy missiles will start landing in the city, which has been divided into squares in order to let damage reach every inch of the city. An estimated 500 missiles are expected to land in Tel Aviv in a short period of time." The Arab sources further said that the Hizbullah has been very careful in cultivating its public image, in order to increase the surprise effect of the planned barrage on Tel Aviv. The war, from the perspective of Nasrallah, has not yet begun, the sources said, adding that other "surprises" planned by the Hizbullah include more kidnappings of Israeli soldiers from along the Lebanese border. Also claiming to have "surprises" in store for Israel is the Gaza-based Islamic Jihad. On Tuesday night, the terrorist organization claimed to have fired a Katyusha rocket at Sderot. The Katyusha is a more deadly rocket than the Kassam, and is being deployed against Israel in the north of the country by the Hizbullah.

LOL, exactly.

Bingo! They don't telegraph their attacks, they just attack.
And why would he bother issuing a warning so as to save lives of the hated Jew?
It's the word "flee," it just rang a bell. (Yeah, I know Bible-thumper.)
And the brutal Afghan winter. Media pukes are the same the world over..
This might provide an answer to "why." (Previously posted July 14, 2006)
"Ahmadinejad is a strong believer in the Shiite tradition of a 12th imam, the so-called hidden Imam Mahdi who Allah has miraculously kept alive since his disappearance in 874 AD.
"As the story goes, Imam Mahdi will return at a time of great global chaos, oppression and bloodshed and usher in an era of (Islamic) justice.
"Ahmadinejad sees himself as Allahs instrument to pave the way for Imam Mahdi, and constantly uses public appearances to urge his countrymen to prepare to back him in this task.
"Rumor is, Imam Mahdi could be returning this August (or shortly thereafter), just around the time some military experts believe Iran will be ready to construct its first nuclear weapon.
"Ahmadinejad has made clear his confidence that he and other true believers can affect this apocalyptic timetable, and will use all means at his disposal to do so.
"Also of note is that August 22 of this year corresponds with the Islamic date of Rajab 28, the day Saladin conquered and entered Jerusalem.
"Taken in conjunction with Ahmadinejads stated desire to see Israel destroyed, it hardly seems a coincidence.
"Will the coming months see Ahmadinejad attempt to bring about Imam Mahdis return by attacking Israel and generating the necessary regional and global chaos?
"Perhaps the better question is, will the West start to take this man at his word in time to stop him?"

If the guy isn't bluffing, then I think your idea sounds like a very strong possibility.
Ahmadinejad Warns of Islamic Retaliation
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's delusional president, warned that continued Israeli strikes against Palestinians could lead seriously impede Islamic tights to martyr themselves by killing Jews. "Palestinians need a secure space to plan and launch their attacks on the Zionists occupying their
land," said Ahmadinejad. "The Israeli army is disrupting this by invading that space."
Ahmadinejad complained that by targeting the source of continued Palestinian attacks on unarmed Israeli civilians, the Israeli army was thwarting the righteous vengeance of Islamic people. "Palestine has always been Muslim land," said Ahmadinejad. "Its people have the right to repel the Jewish invasion. Just because the Hamas gunmen are not strong enough to stand against the Zionist troops doesn't mean that their right to slay Jews is forfeit."
Ahmadinejad conceded that the task of avoiding annihilation by Israeli troops was daunting, but told thousands of demonstrators gathered in the capital, Tehran, that a way would be found to strike at Israel's "soft underbelly of women and children."
In related news, Hamas released a statement asserting that Israeli Cpl. Gilad Shalit, who was kidnapped, was alive and being treated "in accordance with Islamic principles." These principles are believed to include hourly threats of beheading and reminders that, according to the Koran, Jews are monkeys and pigs.

It should be, and would be, justification for preemptive attack---anywhere else. But this kind of bluster is the coin of the region. It's when they stop crowing that they become really menacing.
You're right. Ahmadinejad wants a war. He wants to pave the way for the 12th Imam to return and if Ahmadinejad dies doing so, I think he believes he'll be the Imam's "head martyr" and he may even get to destroy most of Israel in the process. Either way, Ahmadinejad figures he'll be a winner. I just wonder what kind of weapon he plans to launch on Israel. Israel and the West should know Ahmadinejad does not have a "normal" thought process. No one every figured radical islam would kill 3000 in NY either. I put nothing past Ahmadinejad and his mentor clerics.
Yeah, I heard that clip of her on Rush - he is "charismatic", "controversial", and he sets up social programs for the downtrodden. These MSMers are real sickos.
Keep this up until November and we will see what happens then. Yep, Bush's War on Terror crusade is waaaaay overblown (/sarc)
That's just like my rule of thumb for NY Times stories!
My most proudest time during my service in the USAF, was when General LeMay was Chief of the Air Force. We knew he was able and willing to strike against any group wanting to bring America into harms way. I supported him during his Vice Presidential run. He was a very brave man.
Not only Lebanon, but Syria,Gaza and West bank.
