I'm not from Alabama either, but I'm baffled why'd you'd root for the namesake son of the biggest race-baiting Dem in history to "win" a Republican primary. The national media would have a field day with that one.

The race-baiting is yesterday's news.

A lot of conservative Democrats in Alabama became Republicans when it became clear to them that the Democrats didn't represent the best interests of the country. I thought that a Wallace, Jr. victory as a Republican would come to symbolize the end of the Democratic Party's dominance over Alabama politics. A propoganda victory, if you will.

But if he's an opportunist rather than a disillusioned conservative, it's for the best that he lost.
