1. He's from a southern state.
2. He's about as inoffensive as any candidate I've ever seen. Point #2 is far more important than most people realize.
True, but he doesn't meet the third most important criteria:
3.He's a senator. Of course, so's HRC.... (but will she be the nominee? I am starting to doubt that a lot.)
Keep in mind that most of the so-called "front-runners" among the Democrats are also U.S. Senators.
We've been through that point too many times to count. Allen was a very effective Governor of Virginia. In Virginia, governors cannot succeed themselves.
Frankly, I'm glad he beat Chuck Robb for the Senate seat. At least now we have one real conservative. As opposed to a RINO and dem when Robb had that seat.
It's also worth noting that Allen fits the profile that Americans always seem to prefer in their presidents -- even though these are entirely superficial attributes. He's got a short, simple name, a WASP pedigree, and speaks with a mild Southern drawl.
