Hararetz newswire:
12:34 Australia: IDF wouldn`t halt Lebanon shelling to allow for evacuation of citizens (DPA)
WTF is the IDF up to? It is beginning to look like they don't want their Lebanese "guests" to leave town.

I was pretty surprised to hear this too. It was also reported that some citizens were being evacuated by boat yesterday and IDF called whomever was in charge of the evac and said they were bombing the harbor within the hour. I don't understand the urgency.

FOX News just reported that an Italian war ship pulled out about 350 Italian's and some American's yesterday from Beirut. It looks like all the ships are going back to Cyprus. I would think that no matter what ship you are able to get on that you will be taken to Cyprus.
The cruise ship Orient Queen has already left Cyprus to pick up Americans. They plan to only load it during daylight hours due to safety issues. The cruise ship will be escorted by a US Navy Ship. - FOX just said that this first load of passengers for the Orient Queen will be small and around only 60 people.

Word is the IDF is clearing a 1 KM wide 'DMZ' on the border.
Glad to see you're still in one piece.
Of the 25,000 or so Americans in Lebanon, I've heard an estimate of 5,000 may want out.
Your ride should be there in a couple days.
Hang in there.
