Dan Quayle took time out from participating in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Stateline, Nev., on Friday to attend John Mellencamp's concert only to run into a political statement.

He then made a statement of his own by walking out during Mellencamp's rendition of ``Walk Tall.'' Before launching into the song, Mellencamp told the Harveys casino crowd, in effect, that it was dedicated to everyone hurt by policies of the current Bush administration.

Quayle said through a publicist: ``Well, I think Mellencamp's performance was not very good to begin with, and the comment put it over the top.''

Mellencamp sucks.

That's what you get for going to such a crap concert to begin with. John Mellencamp?? Nice taste in music there, Danny boy. What's the matter? David Cassidy was sold out?

COUGAR. What a stupid name.

Didn't he have a heart-attack from boozing and smoking 5 years ago?

No fool like an OLD fool...

Most of these halfwit entertainers have already made lots of money, they dont care who they alienate in their audience anymore I guess. People were sending CDs back to Springsteen. I just put them in the microwave. Great fireworks!

By going to a concert given by such an America-hating leftist, and then getting offended, Danny-boy shows he just may really be that dumb.

Another classless idiot that should be told by Casino management to shut up and sing or hit the road.

Someday these venues will learn that it doesn't pay to alienate a large part of your customer base.

It gets really annoying when entertainersuse their popularity to promote propganda. They need to stick to their field and keep politics out of it.

I guess ol' John Cougar doesn't realize that Bush is simply still cleaning up after 8 years of Clinton. Hence Afghanistan and Iraq.

And now that that is well underway, Bush is turning to the mess that 4 years of Carter created - Iran and Syria.

Hopefully by 2007 he'll have some time to fix the mess that Roosevelt left - Welfare, Taxes.

The only exception here is that we conservatives are also MAKING Bush clean up the travesty on our borders that ALL politicians created over the last century.

Give Quayle a break...Mellancamp was good back before he forgot how to write music and instead became a hack activist. Quayle and Mellancamp are both from Indiana....

I applaud Quayle for walking out...but are you telling me he didn't already know that Mellencamp was a moonbat? The guy makes sure people know it.

You've got to be joking. Johnny Cougar was good? Yeah, if crap is what you're looking for. "Hurts so Good." Yeah, that's classic, man. LOL. Only in the pathetic wasteland that was the 80s could Mellencamp even happen.

Looks like Quayle agreed with you all along. Sometimes you have to attend performances you may not like because the crowd you are with want to go. I say, "Good for Dan Quayle."
