Iran’s Ahmadinejad warns West of “dire fate”

Tehran, Iran, Jul. 17 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that Israel should exchange key Hezbollah leaders it has in custody for its army personnel taken hostage by the Lebanese militia fiercely loyal to Tehran.

“This occupying regime (Israel) came into existence in the heart of the Islamic world and the Middle East 60 to 70 years ago with plots and ruses and has no duty other than terror, crimes, aggression, violence, and creating tension. Its mission is to sow discord among countries in the region”, Ahmadinejad said.

He accused the United States of lying that it sought a two state solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.

He urged the West to remove the Jewish state from the region. “For certain, you cannot withstand the power of the nations of the region”, he said.

“If you do not contain this criminal regime and end your support for it and give a positive response to the people of the region you will face a dire fate”, he said.

His comments were reported by the state-run news agency ISNA.

I don't. I think we will take him out prior. Of course, I won't discount a secondary nuke explosion when we do though.

He does not have til August 22.

Sure he does. The Europeans won't hold him to any timetable for response if it means violence. Iran has promised an 8/22 response, and they'll give them the extra time.

Now, given that Ahmadinejad is a flat-out fruitloop; and given that 8/22 is apparently the anniversary of some great Islamic victory over the crusaders; and given that fruitloops are often motivated by symbolic dates, I'm guessing we won't like their response....

(Maybe I'm wrong about the date -- I see that Jerusalem fell to the Khorezmians on 23 August, 1244 -- a rather ominous coincidence....)

As long as we don't elect democrats, I think that is unlikely.

If Iammadjohn can kill 10,000 enemy all by himself using his sword and his bow and on horseback, then it might be worth listening to his chirping. He is the fox in front of the lion, but there is no lion.

what our problem is is that if he builds a nuke..and gives it to Hezbolah or Hamas...they are just organizations..not countries..so who do you fight...? We are fighting a religion....that crosses many countries and boundaries...we have them here in the US....the Geneva conventions don't work in this war.....unfortunately we ..the West..will try to fight it "properly"...and we will lose many innocent people first....

LOL. When Iran finally gets around to flying a bombing mission to Israel, I hope they overfly Iraqi airspace. None of their planes will make it through.

Dire fate??

At least the Soviet Union during the Cold War cared what their fate would be if the US ever faced a dire fate coming from them. MAD(mutually assured destruction) meant something to them at least.

These nutjobs do not care what would happen to them or their people if we ever faced a dire fate coming from them. That is the definition of crazy and islam.

Yup. One wonders if there will ever be a time when the mullahs to figure out he's a Class-A maniac, and they decide to take him out themselves.

From their perspective, Ahmadinejad represents probably the biggest threat to their power. I seriously doubt they'd be able to withstand the "beheading strikes," followed by a bit of civil war....

Depends on which nutjobs you're talking about. I think most of your mullahs are standard-issue fascist dictator types, who do have a self-preservation instinct.

Ahmadinejad is different -- he's exactly the sort of person you've described. I begin to wonder if he ends up dead in a coup before too long.

he isn't nuts, he is a committed satanist (slave of Allah) who believes he is pleasing God.

He's nuts.

Liar, Liar, surely Ahmadinejad pants are on fire, with all of the lies that he tells. I wonder how many demons posess this man?

It's Iran's counteroffer date to 'discuss' their discontinuing their nuke program. We counter-countered with July 12.
