Red, those are terrazzo tiles, very common in the mideast and med. They look like some kind of candy log from Stuckey's spread flat. Also the rooftop living spaces are everywhere.
You mean they're not the type of terrazo floors that were popular here in the 50's and 60's? Solid terrazo from wall to wall?............
