This is a good article, but it only covers half of the story. Large numbers of immigrants (legal and illegal) are allowed to flood into this country not just because they are a source of cheap labor, but because they are consumers, too -- which is particularly important because much of our economic stability is predicated on a growing consumer base over time.

Actually, I think it's because they vote, or because they'll vote in the future. If they are to be viewed as consumers they would be some of the worst, because they send a lot of their money back home, or they are spending money that is redistributed from American citizens.

Unfortunately, in the border states the hordes of illegal aliens CONSUME our social services, our hospitals, our schools, our towns, and we're paying a high price. Each illegal alien costs us far more than he or she donates to the economy.

The American middle class is being destroyed while a whole new slave class in America is being created. Nothing good about that, except for the greedy business owners who are making a financial killing while we pay the bills.

This situation has been given the green light by our paid-off politicians, who don't give a crap about American citizens.

What nonsense. They consume far less becasue they earn far less. They also don's spend their money here.

Do they spend their money in America or do they send it back to mexico? How is that conumption?

If they earn less, they have less money to spend. Lowering wages leads to the smaller consumer base and to the contraction of economy.

This is not a zero sum game. When you pay workers less it does not mean that someone will have more. The sum can get SMALLER, especially if you take into account the increase of population - the product PER CAPITA is what makes country affluent. Indian economy is larger than Luxemburg.
