It wasn't meant to be overheard. Private luncheon conversations among world leaders, picked up by a microphone, provided a rare window into both banter and substance - including President Bush cursing Hezbollah's attacks against Israel.
Bush expressed his frustration with the United Nations and his disgust with the militant Islamic group and its backers in Syria as he talked to British Prime Minister Tony Blair during the closing lunch at the Group of Eight summit.
"See the irony is that what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this (expletive) and it's over," Bush told Blair as he chewed on a buttered roll.

You're right!
I won't ;) That's lame ;)
I tell you what, considering I do not use that sort of language, and considering this is just a topic of converstion and I am not judging the president and his language, I will take your challenge of me judging people in an un_christian way...and will take it that you are under the guidance of the Holy Spirit...if:
1) You will back up what you say with scripture. Please give specific scriptures that tell us NOT to hold our fellow brothers and sisters accountable for sin...and
2) Please tell me who you are under the guidance of the Holy Spirit when you call your brothers names, such as "pompous self righteous Christians?" That seems like it would grieve the Holy Spirit (Eph 4:30). How is that speeach full of grace (Col 4:6) and edifying (Eph 4:29). To be honest, you you not said the Holy Spirit was guiding you, I would never had guessed you were a believer because of that speech you used.
So, if you can give be explain those two things to me...then you will be correct, at least according to God's word. If not, then you are only correct in your own mind. Maybe that is good enough for you, but not for me.
I agree, I am a Christian. But, I know wonderful Christian people who have used bad words occassionally. I think they know where and when to use it. I don't judge them at all, in fact I find that they appear human like. Christian should mirror Christ, but don't you think if someone is continually doing so in one's own strength, they are bound to bust open even worse. I just think a curse word is such a terrible thing, it's nothing compared to judging, showing impatience, and being mean to another person, which is done on a regular basis.
sorry, I meant 'not such a terrible thing'
Actually, this is not religious talk. This is how God want all people to talk.
Christian = Of Pagan Origin. Those of the way. Follower of Jesus. A disciple of Christ, one who is Christ-like.
Disciple = An individual who is an adherent to the views of his or her master. In Christianity, it means "One who believes His doctrines, rests upon His sacrifice, imbibes His spirit and imitates His Example (Farrar)."
That's what it means to be a Christian.
Well guess what? The President had BETTER be spending some time getting close to the "World" or we are in a lot of trouble.
Your reply verifies my suspicions.
I am sorry to hear of your medical condition and you will be in my prayers.
What is your condition?
Time for a bit of a language lesson.
AFAIK, there is only one "curse" word in the English language - the relatively mild "damn." More rare (and generally considered even miler) are "swear" words - "by Jove," "by jiminy," etc. Most common are the vulgar words -- those words that were once common usage, but have been replaced more polite terms: "sh*t" and "p*ss" were replaced by "feces" and "urine," for example. Other vulgar words include words that describe various bodily and/or biological functions. I will leave those as an exercise for you, dear reader.
Now, then, we see that President Bush did not curse anyone or anything, nor did he swear. Instead, he was guilty, at worst, of using moderately vulgar language. Considering that St. Paul himself had a standing request for certain people to emasculate themselves (see Galations 5:12 if you don't believe me), referring to Hezbollah's actions as "sh*t" seems downright mild, doesn't it?
First, (not trying to get in between your conversation), but I am sorry to hear about your brain tumor. It sounds as if your relationship with the Lord is very clear and sound. It also sounds as if the grace of Christ is covering you. You definitely are speaking in the spirit. It is refreshing to hear someone talk on this level that does not sound judgemental, but from the spirit. Unfortunately, (even me, especially me), our spiritual life slips at times, we become comfortable, and you are right, we conform. You hit it on the head, not that we want to. But, I understand how people can become complacent and that is why I do not want to judge them because it happens at times, we go through phases in our walk and life can be hard. You know this, and I thank God during your difficult times he has kept you close to him. May God continue to bless you and your family. We will pray for you recovery and health.
It is FR's RELIGION FORUM.
Try it. You'll feel more at home.
Ministry and Christianity are not badges to be shoved in other's faces. It is YOUR job to be a better Christian since you claim to be a minister and represent Jesus Himself. I am just bluntly pointing that fact out. NOW, good day to you, sir. I am moving on.
You are an idiot.
Show me in Scripture where cussing is a sin.
There are numerous reasons why you can't use Scripture to say cussing is a sin.
But, here is the basics:
1) Scripture only explicitly says saying God's name in vain is a sin.
2) Scripture does say we are to use honorable language.
However, there is no objective answer to what words would be honorable or dishonorable. In the Middle Ages people were shocked and considered it cussing if you said "devil."
Now, shit barely phases anybody, and yes, I used the word. Deal with it.
tmp, you may not like it, but by saying he is immoral by using A ****HUMAN**** STANDARD for what is moral or immoral....and that is what you are doing because again, there is no BIBLICAL, OBJECTIVE way to judge what is "honorable" or "dishonorable", you are relying on man's ways and not God's.
You are an idolator. Now, I wonder what God would find more offense...saying shit or listening to the vain traditions of men instead of his Word.
Considering Scripture is filled with warnings against following vain tradition, I somehow think he would be more concerned about that.
Saying shit is not a violation of the commandment against using God's name in vain.
Grow up.
Are you for real?
