Sounds like he is trying to convince the Lebanese that
he belongs there and will protect them.
But the Israeli strikes are convincing the Lebanese to
get rid of the Hezbollah...
I think that's why the Israeli's destroyed egress and
ingress to the cities, to keep Hezbollah localized,
and let the indigenous population have their
way with Hezbollah(not to mention...snipers). This may be very interesting. Also, since the Palestinians are
bearing the brunt of the action and fear, it may make
them think twice about voting for Hamas or Hezbollah
backed candidates...since it may come down upon their
heads instead of the candidates....
How this plays out will tell very much about the
general population support of Hezbollah/Hamas

It will be interesting to see how much your line or reasoning plays out in all this. It may be a significant thing. I would like to think so.
