This conflict has made something clear - there are two types of nations in the Middle East - those who harbor and promote Islamist extremists, and those who are the targets of such. In the past, countries such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt would have jumped on the anti-Israeli bandwagon. Now, they condemn Hezbollah. They have no desire for the extremists to have a victory, even if it is against Israel, because they know that would embolden the terrorists they are also fighting.

Wrong.
The Saudis may be against the extremists controlled by Shite Iran, Hezbollah.
But they are very much for the extremists that are their allies, Hamas.
Their ideology is different. Their aims identical.
