All the BS today from liberal "analysts" (plus the positive inspiration provided by nugget #2) reminded me of the U.S.-Syria shuttle diplomacy and by mad Maddie Half-Bright's predecessor, Warren Chrisopher, who seemed to be "developing a relationship" with Assad the elder (Basher's dad) every weekend. (Do any FReepers remember how many times Christopher went to Syria?) A quick an dirty Google search for "Warren Christopher Syria" (without the quotes) revealed this nugget written by someone at AEI in January 2000:
