The July 24 issue of Newsweek (on newsstands Monday, July 17) looks how Iran is using its influence in the Middle East to wage a stealthy war against Israel and America and assesses the extent of its ties to key players in the current conflict.
Israel threatens to leave World Press Federation
By JPOST.COM STAFF
Israel will leave the World Press Federation if the organization does not retract its comment regarding the IDF's attacks on a television station belonging to the Hizbullah Al-Manar TV, Army Radio reported Sunday.
The Federation stated that Israel's attacks were against the principle of the freedom of the press.
The attacks on Al-Manar proves Israel's policy of the use of force as a means of quieting press organizations with which Israel does not agree, said Aidan White, Secretary-General of the Federation.
An official letter written to the Federation by Israeli reporters states that the condemnation of Israel's actions represents overt support for terrorism.

I haven't read the Newsweek article yet but I will in a minute.
But I think that it can't be stated often enough that this is the ultimate goal of the jihadists.
That is one place where I think Newt did Republicans a favor this morning on the Sunday talk shows. Despite his bit of Bush bashing, he is putting the war in context of WWIII and we ignore the threats at our peril.
