ummm....are you warning me, or discussing a threat to you and proposing a military alliance?
Glad we're getting updates from somewhere...
Seeing as now not only do we only have reruns on all the stations, but two of the three aren't even related to current events (CNN doing the 2nd hour of Flight 800 and MSNBC doing one of their unending stream of 'investigate' specials @@)........even Fox is running the Beltway Boys and it's not like even the others with a lot of 'on scene' news, even if it would be hours old.
This really is remarkable...you'd think this was any old weekend with nothing 'extraordinary' going on in our world. Especially since one of the things that Mike Tobin just said was that the nights have been quiet and the attacks begin at daybreak...which is just the time all our lovely reruns begin...so they're missing a prime opportunity to have live coverage of timely events.
Oh well...another fun night of watching CNNi when it comes on and that annoying Carol on Fox can continue her game of seeing how many times she can cut off Mike Tobin when he's live with true news...just to hit the 'play' button the reruns :-)
LOL.
I am going to create the new thread.....
New Thread.....

No problem.
I'm sure you know things that others do not, please pass them on when the opportunity arises.
It's no surprise that military and emergency response efforts make use of chatrooms and bulletin boards like this to share and disseminate information, they are very efficient.
Everyone can help. People can search out new sources, search out answers to specific questions, moonitor and report on known sources, or just absorb data, analyze it, and post useful observations.
Since Jim still lets me on here, that means most everyone is welcome.
I think few if any in the Israeli or Bush administrations expected it to work. But it may have given Israel some high ground in the eyes of the arab world and the europeenies (not that she didn't always have that high ground IMO) in which to facilitate the acceptance of anythign she's having to do now and in the future.
Like I said, just a hypothesis I'm working on.
I think your hypothesis is right on. Israel tried. They gave up territory. It got them nothing. It's just to bad that the majority of the Lebanese don't support Hizzbollah are caught in the middle of the mess. Iran and Syria are the real culprits.
Thank you for the live thread!! It makes it so much easier to "check in" on ALL the latest!
I think they had to show good faith to the world. Not that it was required in my estimation but the rest of the world is very anti-semitic. And you are correct about the Lebanese....I so hope things can get on track for them.
The blogs that are coming from over there are for the most part cheering the Israeli's to rid the area of Hezbollah.
Soon after, a Spotted Owl was seen circling Chirac's head, diving in and taking a good nip.
This guy is a disaster!
Bit late catching up here. I think that Arabic guy you are referring to is Monsoor Ijaz--he's really terrific. Pakistani, extremely articulate and knowledgeable. He was a big Clinton supporter but I can't recall why he switched--seems it was something about bin Laden.
I was certain someone would comment on the reply to Susan Estritch's remark about Bill Clinton's moral authority by the male Republican whose name I forget. He said "Bill Clinton's moral authority? How could he govern with any moral authority from his pants"? (Probably not his exact words) I just shouted hooray. Susan didn't say a word--just sat their quietly until the program was closed out! For once she didn't have an answer. What a magical moment!
Just getting back to your post.
The answer is 'not even close,' TexKat.
Just stating the obvious. I've known it for years.......
