Gleam of Dawn

Moonbat Mysteries Part III

by Wayne Boettcher
Posted: 07/15/2006

It was a beautiful morning on July 12, 2006 as I traveled through Tucson toward 2302 E. Speedway in Tucson, Arizona, the address of a strip mall containing the Military Recruiting Center where a weekly protest / pro-troops rally occurs. Earlier the almost full moon shone brightly in the southwest as the vapor trail from a successful White Sands high-altitude missile interceptor test curled in the eastern sky. When I arrived at 7:00 am, Pro-Americans were already set up with flags and banners. I had admired the dawn sky too long.

Due to rising tension and contention between Pro-American and "anti-war" protesters I had made a new "counter-sign" to be added to the growing pile of placards available to all, with "Don't Believe Left - Wing Propaganda and Lies" on one side and "Surrender to Terrorism? NO!" on the other. My advice to Pro-Americans is not to enrage rancorous radicals by blocking signs but instead to station a counter-sign further down the street from the main left wing group (known as "Moonbat Central.")

The few moonbats who stand in the midst of Pro-Americans should be left alone in my opinion. Their signs, after all, are usually too small or incomprehensible to be read amongst the mix of American flags and pro-troops banners. They just make our side look bigger. Welcome to them, I say, and thanks for the help! Maybe being among the happy patriotic people will cheer them up a little. I should mention that usually Pro-Americans are on the sidewalk directly in front of the strip mall and moonbats are generally across the street, simply because the Pro-Americans get there first.

Local "anti-war" protesters, perhaps frustrated by falling numbers and the ability of Pro-Americans to show up wherever they are protesting, have resorted to new and strange tactics. The Tucson "Peace Calendar" has been stripped of protesting activities, as if they are now ashamed of what they do. Even the schedules of Communist Party USA meetings are gone! Also a number of people with Code Pink t-shirts and known Code Pink leaders have recently appeared at the Wednesday protests. Perhaps they are taking over from the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom who have been the most prominent protesters, or maybe they are just helping out.

Thanks to AmericanProtest.net's new inexpensive but workable digital camera, I was able to take some photos including our giant banner, of which we have two. However, the glaring sun of Southwest Arizona still makes pictures hard to come out unless you're an expert with good equipment. My method of counter-protesting moonbats is to go past them so that after cars observe their wackiness, they see my counter-sign with either "Say No To Communism" or "Don't Believe Left - Wing Propaganda and Lies." It provides welcome relief to many drivers visually assaulted by liberal signs. This time another Pro-American named Bob was before them as well with "Osama Loves Lefties" and "Zarqowi Monster Dead," short but easily understood signs.

At least one moonbat was using my technique, either through reading my column, observation or coming to the same conclusion of effectiveness herself. She was a hundred feet past the Pro-Americans with a simply lettered sign. However, after seeing the positive, patriotic Pro-Troop signs and flags a grumpy, nonsensical "No War" just doesn't evoke much reaction. Does she mean the North shouldn't have fought the South in the Civil War? Who knows?

After taking a few pictures on the south side of the street side, I headed north, snapping a few photos of the other side, walking past Moonbat Central with a cheery greeting cheerily returned, then taking up my place a hundred feet past them. I received many honks of recognition, gratitude and thumbs up from happy motorists who were formerly grimfaced after seeing wacky left wing signs and the giant blue moonbat banner saying "Bring Them Home Now!" Yes, they love those troops, except when they falsely accuse them of atrocities and facilitate over $600,000 in cash and supplies for the "other side" in Fallujah, Iraq as Code Pink has done.

After an hour passed and the moonbats began to break down, I decided to try and pass out a few articles since I had a new one on terrorist connections in pre-war Iraq. I gathered my sign and bag, got the best article printouts ready, and walked down the line. A woman accepted one on terrorist connections and a teenager with an anti-draft sign accepted "The killing machine that is Marxism" but accidentally got two. "Give one to your social studies teacher," I said and he smilingly agreed. A few more accepted articles on WMD being found as well. Soon I came across a Code Pink T-shirted lady and a well-dressed man.

"Would you like an article on Weapons of Mass Destruction?" I asked. "It's an interview of an Iraqi General famous in the Middle East for telling the truth. He's a Christian."

"Are you a Christian?" she demanded.

"Yes."

"What level of Christian are you?"

Well, that was a weird question but I wanted some answers, too.

"Let's have an equal exchange of answers, since I answered you. Are you a Communist?"

Her friend laughed.

"Why do you think I'm a Communist?" she remonstrated.

"Doesn't Code Pink openly support Fidel Castro of Cuba and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela? Isn't Code Pink proud to be Communist?" I inquired.

At that point they began an intense volley of interruptions and shouting.

"What does Communism have to do with Iraq?" the two kept shouting but also interrupting me when I tried to explain. I managed to get out that Communism killed over 100 million innocent people in the 20th Century but due to their interruptions was unable to complete the point that all the wars in that time killed less than 35 million military personnel. Although I asked the Code Pink lady numerous times to accept "The killing machine that is Marxism", she refused. Finally she took off, no doubt on important business but the man stayed.

I attempted to explain to the dapper activist how Saddam's Hussein's Baath Party was a Communist entity associated with the Soviet Union (which he didn't know) but it was barely possible to even talk. His constant interruptions made it hard to have a conversation and I explained that this method of debate didn't demonstrate much intellectual power to me from his side. He then tried cursing and sneering but that didn't convince me of his "anti-war" position, either. Not knowing the Baath Party was Communist? If he didn't know any political facts about Iraq, what was he doing holding a sign about it, anyway? He did take a couple of articles about Iraq from me, but refused to touch the Marxism one.

After he left suddenly, the next person was the Pro-American with the "Osama Loves Lefties" sign, which he had designed. All the moonbats on the northeast side of the street were gone.

"Don't even try. Those people are insane!" he laughed.

"Is that a medical opinion?" I joked since I knew he is a doctor.

He just laughed. Being a doctor, he also knows about lawsuits! His t-shirt was hilarious, showing a picture of Che while proclaiming, Communism killed a hundred million people and all I got was this lousy t-shirt! Why didn't I think of that one? Turned out there was one moonbat back on the northwest corner named Randy, the man who reads my columns.

He said I made it sound like the "anti-war" people were more violent than they really are in my columns, but after discussion seemed to agree with me that neither side are a cohesive organization but loose coalitions of individual activists, groups and veterans where people on both sides have been confrontational and blocked signs. One Pro-American made the point that the "Veterans for Peace" banner holder could not answer simple questions about the Air Force and she didn't believe that person was ever in the military. Randy replied that he himself never falsely claimed to be in the military.

I asked him how he felt about Code Pink's donation of cash and supplies to the "other side" in Fallujah and he replied he didn't know. Perhaps this was the first he had heard of it. He wanted to make a correction for me that on the March 18th rally, the man shouting "Drive out the Bush regime, the world can't wait" on the megaphone did not stop because I was chanting "Saddam can't wait" on my megaphone in synchronization as I implied in my column of that event but because that just happened to be the time he stopped. Duly noted!

It has been written in Proverbs that "...the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble." Surely that seems a wise saying upon reflection. Knowledge is an effective tool, the means to avoid wickedness is aided by its power, indeed; "The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day." The domestic anti-American war is a battle of information, with liberal media hiding facts and leftists disseminating propaganda and lies. The best way to counter this tactic is to bring out those hidden facts and let them shine while debunking the lies. You can help by printing some columns and handing them out, writing a letter to the editor or any number of ways. Stand up for truth, and stand up for America!

Here's some more information for the expanded Free Republic report:

1. My AAR's on FR are accounted as evil by the mysterious and highly paranoid "Artemesia" because I mention the first names of moonbats I talk to. And here I thought I was being discreet by not even inquiring anyone's last name! But doesn't Artemesia realize that when you stand on a street with a sign you are making yourself a public figure? If you want to be a secret protester just write people, government officials or newspapers from home with no return address! (Or get a secret blog!) Isn't that obvious? I guess not to some people. Wacky meanderings that Pro-American counter-protesters are being trained by the military and paid by capitalist landowners are equally incredible.

2. The courageous Pro-American Lucero family is under attack in many forms by left wing activists because of their support for the troops. Please pray for them, and don't forget their son in the Army, daughter in the Marines, and that they lost their son Josh some time ago in Fallujah. It takes more than moonbats to get the Luceros down but I'm sure they'd appreciate a little spiritual backup.

3. There were no obvious representatives from the Tucson City Council today, and the angy cursing City Employee was not in evidence last week, I am told, although there were two others then who did not yell and curse. Members of the City Council who don't like troop support apparently have still not figured out a way to ban Pro-Americans and still allow "anti-war" protesters without being too obvious about violating the Constitution. Perhaps they did learn something from losing the Gentala case!

Thanks Wayne for the report and great pics of your group in the Pro America side and the moonbats pitifully doing their thing on the other side. It feels so good to tweak these loosers with all their hate and guilt. Here in Hilo, Hawaii after the '04 election, the moonbats got bumper stickers that said simply "NO WAR". Driving into town I spotted a homemade bumper sticker. Evidently this driver had talked a moonbat into giving him 2 NO WAR stickers. He ingeniously cut and pasted and came out with his own bumper sticker that REALLY made my day....it said " W WON "
Keep up the good work, we owe you.

Thanks, Islander2! I just checked the Peace Calendar link above and that link is not working now although it was working before. This one http://www.peacecalendar.org/index.php still does. It's all blank except for a few events now, but go back a month and you can see the anti-war protests and CPUSA meetings. Hey, maybe they're just reorganizing the calendar.

Note: I got an email that the "Veterans for Peace" banner lady reports she served 22 years in the Air Force but doesn't like to talk about it.

Hey, thanks for your service, banner lady, but wouldn't it be a great protest if the "Veterans for Peace" all refused their retirement pay from the evil military-industrial complex? Then all the war-hating veterans wouldn't have to feel so guilty cashing those checks! Just a thought.

I was Napoleon but I can't tell you the capital of France because I don't like to talk about it.
