"The first major assault outside of Lebanon will be Tehran...and it won't be a slap on the wrist."
And President Bush has given public support to Israel. Since Iraq is a soverign nation, Israel needs the approval of Jordan and Iraq to fly over as well as position air-to-air refueling. They may have that with Bush's approval.
They also have several submarines positioned in the Gulf.
If an attack happens without U.S. support, I think it will be sub launched.
Get it on, Israel. Iran is begging for it.

Maybe we can just "lend-lease" some equipment to Israel...equiupment that just happens to be in Iraq.
The thing is, if Iraq or Jordan allowed the flyovers, that would enrage their populace.
I don't know if those countries are willing to take that risk, regardless of how Bush talks to them.
He can maybe bend Iraq, but not Jordan.
I mean, even if the leaders supported Israel here, by saying so, they would be committing political suicide.
Israeli subs are Med based. They don't have any Dolphin Class outside of the Med. Think about the logistics for getting them there? They can't take them through the Suez and the only way out is through the Straits of Gibraltar and all the way around the Cape of Good Hope.
