The point that I am trying to make here is that every non smoker that did sit there (beside the bar) last night (and every night), is going to be annoyed. They are going to remember that "smoking sections don't work" unless they are separate rooms. Restaurant owners who don't realize this are hurting their own cause.Any business owner today who can still allow a smoking section knows enough to install the big smoke eaters.
The one tavern here in town installed 3 huge smoke eaters. You couldn't see the smoke let alone smell it.
That's how the Casino's do it in Vegas. Big smoke eaters. People are smoking all over the place, but the air is clear as glass.

I know you are sold on the smoke eaters but the restaurant last night (not my choice) doesn't have them. We spend 2 weeks a year in Las Vegas (Professional Bullriding Finals) and while the newer casinos with higher ceilings are not too bad, the older ones with smoke eaters are awful. Only a smoker would think smoker eaters work because your sinuses are used to smelling it.
