(IsraelNN.com) Three Patriot anti-ballistic missile batteries have been placed in Haifa over the Sabbath after Hizbullah fired rockets into the port city last week.
The military confirmed the placement of the Patriots in Haifa, adding it is the first time the anti-ballistic missile system is being deployed in Israel in a number of years.
Haifa has special strategic significance, being home to a major seaport, as well as primary Israel Electric Company power station, and oil refineries.
