PROVINCETOWN Town leaders here are holding a public meeting today to air concerns about slurs and bigoted behavior. And this time, they say, it's gay people who are displaying intolerance.
Police say they logged numerous complaints of straight people being called "breeders" by gays over the July Fourth holiday weekend. Jamaican workers reported being the target of racial slurs. And a woman was verbally accosted after signing a petition that opposed same-sex marriage, they said. ...though police say they do not consider the incidents hate crimes.
...
...[T]ensions are rising in part because of strong feelings about same-sex marriage.
...
A group that supports gay marriage, knowthyneighbor, has created a website displaying the names of more than 100,000 signers of a petition that calls for the state Constitution to be amended to prohibit same-sex marriage.
Knowthyneighbor's tactics are controversial, with critics alleging that knowthyneighbor is making the names of same-sex marriage opponents public in an effort to expose or intimidate them.

I used to work with someone who called straight people "breeders" and justified gays-only bed and breakfasts by saying "Straight people wouldn't WANT to go there, anyway," to which I had to respond, "Yeah, just like black folks wouldn't WANT to go to a white's only bed and breakfast, right?" Which of course made me his enemy for the rest of the time I worked there, humorless jerk. You should have heard him going on about Matthew Shepard...
Let's see breeder or rumpster....so many tough decisions...NOT.
I don't get it. Why tell strangers what you do with your private parts? Guilt?
qualify for pings?
I'm torn on my response between:
"I know I am but what are you?"
and
"At least I can"
Oh good grief, gay marraige is on the bottom half of my political concerns but good grief these people make me mad.
When approached by a reporter yesterday, Cabral, who runs a trolley service , gathered tourists onto her trolley at the Town Hall stop, pulled the bell, and called out: ``I don't want to divide the community over this issue."
I wonder if the tourists stared at this madwoman sitting behind the wheel, ringing her bell and shouting at a reporter this way, and did they flee?
Provincetown is mostly white, but includes several hundred people who identify themselves as biracial, along with 258 blacks, 11 American Indians, and 17 Asians.
I see the gays aren't all that interested in racial quotas. Good thing they see people as individuals and don't judge them by their sexual preference or skin color, huh?
It's not clear what percentage of the residents are gay.
Oh, I think it's safe to say "Almost all of them."
After being pushed and prodded...Hines was buying a hotdog
Enough with the sexual imagery!
Thanks for the ping.
Provincetown (Queer City) is a good place to be from, far away from that is.
"Breeder?"
Is that supposed to be an insult?
Knowthyfaggot neighbor....
That's a great episode. Top 5 all-time, for sure.
Much the same way homosexuals started a special use of the word "gay" to describe themselves, they also chose the word for the other 98% of the population - "straight".
I prefer normal, as in, "Are you a homosexual, or are you normal?" instead of, "are you gay, or are you straight?"
Words mean things. Changing what you call something does not make it different.
I look forward to the MSM pointing out this story as an example of "hate". Not.
ha! "new"? they were doing this back in 1996!
so the rumprangers in charge of packing fudge want to call names, but have me arrested if I do.. I see
During gay pride month, a glossy gay mag produced in New York with local inserts included a section on the "dilemna" of gay marriage and adoption. The most strident gays even call the pro-marriage gays "wannbe breeders". They are afraid they will lose their identity of being on the fringe, outrageous and believe their extreme sexual exploits are exactly what make them gay. The hostility is quite amazing, as their "lifestyle" is threatened.
"Are you normal or are you queer?" "When you are in a locker room or rest room with members of the same sex, do you violate their privacy and stare at their genitalia?"
