Gov. Richardson To Speak At Florida, Denver Events
The Albuquerque Journal ^ | July 14, 2006 | Jeff Jones

Gov. Bill Richardson will fly later this month to a pair of political gatherings where a "Who's Who" of potential Democratic presidential contenders are flocking together.

Richardson is scheduled to be the featured dinner speaker July 22 at the Florida Democratic Party's biggest fundraiser of the year— an event also scheduled to include Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., and retired general Wesley Clark.

Then it's off to Denver for a July 24 speaking engagement at the Democratic Leadership Council's conference, which also is to include heavy hitters Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind.

Richardson, who is seeking re-election as governor this fall, is also widely believed to be exploring a run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008. However, he— like most of the others eyeing a run— has yet to publicly confirm the intention.

Richardson's...Republican challenger in the governor's race, former state Republican Party leader John Dendahl, said Thursday that the upcoming trips to Denver and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are clearly aimed at a White House bid. Dendahl accused Richardson of a "lack of honesty" on his presidential plans.

"If Bill Richardson wants to come forward to the people of New Mexico and say, 'My re-election in 2006 is part of my campaign to become president of the United States,' then that would be honest," Dendahl said. "If, on the other hand, he continues to say, 'I have the best job in the world,' ... or, 'We'll see what happens with the (governor's) election,' that's dishonest."

Not much news here, but Dendahl is snapping at King Bill's heels which is needed to expose Richardson's real objectives, as if anyone doesn't already know.

Richardson is a danger if he runs for President. Thankfully, we have the Democrat primaries to ensure that any borderline reasonable possibilities get flushed down the drain in favor of more ignorant liberals.

Nov. 3: Lewinsky receives U.N. job offer.

Bingo! That little bit of maneuvering was about to be brought up by Frank Murkowski when Richardson was up for confirmation as Energy Secretary - but disappeared quietly and never became an issue. At the time. He is dead meat if he ever makes headway in the primaries. By interviewing her he was cooperating with the Clinton effort to get Lewinsky outside of the subpoena power of a Federal Grand Jury sitting in D.C.
