Israeli gunners cover their ears as an artillery piece fires into southern Lebanon from a position on the border near Kiryat Shmona, northern Israel, Friday, July 14, 2006.
I watched the CNN 360 Spot with ...what's his name ....and he was with an Israeli artillery unit...I thought it was a good video piece and CNN did a good job....I did not see bias tonight...Iran is getting much blame as being behind all of this....
it may be tough going to open a beachhead into Beirut -
Reuters defines "civilian" as someone killed by the IDF or United States.
Baer is so brilliant, isn't he? /sarc
FYI...for any Hugh Hewitt fans...or anyone who wants to listen to a LIVE talk show on Saturday.
Hugh is going to have his show on tomorrow night...6:00-9:00 EDT..
Yes! Mike Tobin. He did a good job - I would have been running the other way.
Thanks for the name - will be looking for him tomorrow if FOX can resist spending the day telling us about the stock market falling and price of gas going up.....over and over.

Israel: New Hezbollah rockets can reach Tel Aviv and Be'er Sheva
Israel believes Hezbollah has missiles that can hit most of Israel, and which could even strike Be'er Sheva under optimum conditions.
Iran supplied Hezbollah with solid-fuel, Zelzal-2 missiles with a 200-km range, but these are not very accurate, since they do not have a self-guidance system.
The Zelzal-2 missiles, intended to strike broad targets such as communities and cities, are equipped with explosive warheads weighing up to 600 kilograms. The missiles are a later version of the Zelzal-1 missiles, which Iran first displayed in September 2005 at a military parade in Tehran, together with six Shihab-3 missiles.

I dunno, isn't their airport open, exposed and on the coast? Send in forces by sea, cap the airport, and bunker down... at least thats how ya do it in Battlefield 2. ;-)
"What would you suggest then? A broadening of the conflict to the supporters and financiers? Do you see this thing going regional? Maybe its just me, but i detected a different tone today from our public officials (particularly McCain on Hannity and Colmes) almost as if they are trying to prepare us for a widening of the conflict. By the way - its been eerily quiet the past couple of hours over in Israel/Lebanon"
If you'll allow me to butt in here...
I don't see any choice about this going regional. Now is likely the best time to take Syria down, once and for all, and without government support, Hezbollah cannot survive.
They may have plenty of IEDs prepared, but they cannot eat explosives, altough the Syrians are welcome to try. And Iran can bluster all they want about rallying to protect Syria, but the truth is there is little thay can do about it. They sure aren't going to overfly Iraq to get to Damascus...
I can see the US getting directly involved soon, depending on whether the Arabs feel froggy or not. We should have assets in the area now...
I have had CNN on ...but muted with closed captioning..and it hasn't been too bad.
The short segment on Nightline though...whew, their normal ABC NEWS bias was showing.
They would have to land those hovercraft and transport the people to ships....its too far to helo people to Cypress.....
They will also have to negotiate a cease fire between both parties, as they did to get those airliners out of the airport this morning.
Thanks STARWISE. I understand there are approx 25,000 Americans in Lebanon.
AMEN to your prayer.
07:42 Hezbollah TV station: New IAF strikes targeting roads in south Lebanon (Reuters)
The short segment on Nightline though...whew, their normal ABC NEWS bias was showing.
I finally broke down and subscribed to CNN Pipeline (I don't have cable.) I gotta say, CNN International has so far been pretty fair in it's reporting, and the live feeds from Israeli tv and Hezzbullah tv have been interesting. :)
Too bad Fox News doesn't offer an internet television service. *sigh*
That was it - thanks Jet. :o) I thought he did a great job.
for starters...
Hezbollah hit an Isreali ship - the same ship that hit the headquarters of their leader who lived thru the strike... there are at least 4 Israeli sailors missing from that...
They tried again but hit a civilian vessel..could be Eqyptian..
They are using drones that were made in Iran...
Syria formerly announced their support of Lebanon and Hezbollah
