Israeli gunners cover their ears as an artillery piece fires into southern Lebanon from a position on the border near Kiryat Shmona, northern Israel, Friday, July 14, 2006.
Each service has different age maximum's....I read somewhere that they took at least up to 45 year olds in WWII.
Bekaa Valley, huh? No reason for Syria to get nervous over that, is there? :-)
You're correct, the press blew it way out of proportion.
Col. Hunt is now a paid advisor to Hilary Clinton.
What!.....tell me that isn't true!!!! NOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!
The way I remember it, and it has been a long time ago, was at a press conference and some reporter asked Haig who was in charge. Mr. Haig answered something to the effect of, "right now I am".
I didn't take it as some sort of "takeover", just someone trying to restore some order to the chaos.
Yeah, I know . . . just trying to archive. :o)
Maybe on the way back to D.C., Air Force One could do a couple strafing passes on Hezbollah and drop a few JDAMs in Gaza.
I read that the reporters have to fly to Israel, cross to Jordan and be accredited, then go to Syria, and then head into Lebanon if that is where they want to be. Also, the newsies were complaining they couldnt overnight body armor to their employees. I dont think Anderson has ever covered a war yet, unless you count Fashion Week in NYC.
No! Didn't you hear? Bush is sorry about his Texan roots and vows never to be a "COWBOY" again.
Really???? He's the geek/dimwad/girlie-drama-seeker I just love to hate. :-)
I think it was BBC that broadcast a pretty good portion of the OJ trial. I had no idea the rest of the world cared a whit.
One of the worst examples of media bias that I've ever seen before or since.
During the Falkland Islands brief war, he worked his a** of to stop it. He, along with Ed Meese from those years were just brutalized unmercifully by the one party/3 Network press
No telling what the Israelis will find in the Bekaa. Crates with Iraqi manifests would be interesting, no?
NOPE! He was asked who was running the show. He assured the press that the VP was in the air on the way back and that hey were in constant contact with him. When the press kept hammering on "who is in charge" Haig said again that they were in constant contact with the VP but if they (the press) needed to ask something that "for now here I am in charge". It was OBVIOUS to anyone smarter than a brick that he did not mean as far as the govt he was in charge. He meant he was the "go to" guy at the white house but all important decisions were up to the VP.
Noooo!? Said it ain't so!
Bye-bye, Colonel Hunt.
I'll never listen to him again.
I do like seeing Ollie North on all these shows. He's a man I respect. He is a true patriot.
Thank God he is okay..and the rest of your family, as well.
I just heard that the State Dept. is going to try to get the 25,000 Americans out of Lebanon....I hope this means the Freeper that is stuck in Beirut gets to get out.
I love/loved Col Hunt...reminds me of a little bulldog
